If there were jobs to be had.....no I wouldn't. Can you honestly tell me there is work available for the 10% of people that are out of work and looking?

Tell me an alternate solution besides resorting to criminal acts?

If the private sector wasn't so incompetent...

Hmm, I show a total of 58% of voters want either NO unemployment, no federal extention, or cap at 99 weeks.

So by the small vote here it looks like we do not want to pay extended benefits. Nuff said.

Housing sales are/were down and even moving out of state to find work was impossible unless you want to abandon a house you've made payments on for years. It was their wives paychecks and unemployment that kept them floating. Many people here have gone back to school to retrain for other professions other than the auto industry but that all takes time. The extension is an extreme measure for extreme times....and the Gulf state people are next in line to need some extra help with employment issues.
They shouldn't give a dime to those Obama hating folk down there in the Gulf.

That is EXACTLY the way that I feel. The wars, Medicare Part D, bank bailouts are all unfunded. Why is there enough for those and not for helping American citizens who are down on their luck?

So a mark of a civilized country is higher taxes? Just goes to show how skewed your thinking has become and how you have bought into the left wing media hook line and sinker. I am really sad that you think higher taxes and bigger gov't is the only way to solve our countries problems. It hasn't worked in Europe I would think you could see that.

If you think higher taxes is the only way, to tax our way out of our problems you are deceived. Clearly.
I am with you!

Most those who wants the government to be more involved never experienced life under socialism, therefore don't know what they are talking about, or what they are wishing for.

About unemployment, some people would look for a job immediately; some would wait until they have a month or two before they ran out of benefits. You keep extending the benefit they’ll keep sitting at home.

One more question until today people from socialistic countries came here for freedom of opportunities, when will they go now if we are becoming socialists ourselves.

I support it but at this point it shoudn't be emergrnacy funded. It been overa years and needs to be funded by congress. There are plenty of unspent funds in the sti, ulus funding and thsi is a good use for it. Btter than the moeny spent so far that went to spcial interest grops. What is more specail to the democrats is really the question.

How are we going to get out of the worst economy since the Great Depression without spending money? Last I checked we had a service based economy. What are we going to start a third war to promote manufacturing? If there are fewer people working that means there is a smaller tax base. How does that translate? That means the working class picks up the tab to make up for it! Higher taxes. We need a jobs policy, public works projects, promote small business, and many more things.

At the end of the day it takes money to make money that's business 101. Money has to circulate through our economy in order for people to not live in fear.

Where is the money going to come from? The Federal Government is in hock up above its ears, deep in debt, and broke. There just isn't any money to support these give-away programs anymore.
