Boehner is a disgrace to the entire country. The right need to get a clue and vote who is actually the best candidate, not who simply has an (R) next to their name, or you'll end up with clowns like this.

Oh, we get it now Boehner, we get to retire later to pay for extending the Bush tax cuts for the rich. Why didn't you just say so?

Well, ********* Mr Boner. If we can't afford the tax cuts, then we shouldn't keep them. It is not complicated.

Raising the retirement age does not mean that the companies will keep them on or that they will be hired. That is the problem that we are having now.

It would just create more stress on the nation, which is why SS was enacted in the beginning. Bottom line is that most people cannot work much beyond 65, willing or not.

When will American's realize that most people face hardships and need help because they cannot, could not arrive at any other place? No one intentionally decided one day to end up on a soup line, or shelter line.

As we traveled the country, we saw people living in the woods, the swamps, and urban alleys. They had bare feet, tattered clothes, dirty faces. I met a few while walking my dog. One woman was so overjoyed that we actually acknowledged her that she wept while petting him.

Face it, America, we've got some serious problems, and they've been around long before this present economic situation. Making laws isn't going to do anything if people still cannot get shelter, food, and clothing. Darn it, we don't even give them a place to bath! How are you going to get them to work?

And then I haven't even touched on AGE DISCRIMINATION that is totally alive and thriving in major employment arenas.

Okay, rant over. Sorry if I upset your dream world, go back to sleep.

Yes, this failing of government started very recently.
No one before now, no policies already in place, set the groundwork for what is seen today.
The fund wasn't robbed to pay for other programs for the past 30 decades (that I've been watching it).
I'm not saying it's good or bad, it just is.

Life expectancy is much longer than it was decades ago, and the full retirement age has been changing over the years.

Found it: If you were born in 1960 or later your full retirement benefit age is already age 67. You can always retire earlier with a loss of full benefits.

I see no reason why the retirement age shouldn't be raised. We are living much longer lives now, than we we used to.

However, it'll have an overall small effect on the SSI payments and money problems. They should simply remove SS withholdings from the general fund, and put them in their own fund.

Of course that would mean we couldn't fight wars anymore, and that God forbid we can't continue the stupid Bush tax cuts, but alas, you can't have your cake, and eat it to.

I'd take a guess that dirty faced barefoot swamp people are both an exception to the norm in America and wouldn't likely be impacted in any way by social security age being raised three years.

I might as well point out that as we traveled the country we saw people living in huge suburban homes with multiple cars in the driveway, talking on cell phones on their way to the restaurant to eat out.

Democrats have blocked serious SS reform for 50 years. Its their fault and only their fault that SS is in the mess it is in.

when you are 50 TRILLION Dollars in the hole, you cant just write a check to cover it.

It is funny to see liberals on CD wanting to shoot the messenger.
