The Wong Kim Ark decision defined the status of 'citizen.' I don't see a dispute of Obama's American citizenship in this thread.

All on his own, huh?

Where will the Deputy Director order troops to deploy next? The Bahamas? Chile? Austria? Why or why not?

And also of "natural born citizen." I have provided you the specific quotation several times. You have to this point run away from it.

Of course. If you've been following the actual trial, you would have learned that an officer's authority to issue orders is inherent in their rank and position. It has nothing to do with chain of command.

I suspect that this particular Deputy Director orders troops all over the world. The demand for skilled Walter Reed personnel is global.

Here's the quote you cited:
Quote:
It thus clearly appears that, by the law of England for the last three centuries, beginning before the settlement of this country and continuing to the present day, aliens, while residing in the dominions possessed by the Crown of England, were within the allegiance, the obedience, the faith or loyalty, the protection, the power, the jurisdiction of the English Sovereign, and therefore every child born in England of alien parents was a natural-born subject unless the child of an ambassador or other diplomatic agent of a foreign State or of an alien enemy in hostile occupation of the place where the child was born.

III. The same rule was in force in all the English Colonies upon this continent down to the time of the Declaration of Independence, and in the United States afterwards, and continued to prevail under the Constitution as originally established.
You do realize that this passages discusses and quotes Dicey's Digest of the Law of England and refers to natural born British subjects, not natural born American citizens, right?

Hell, let's make it a free for all! Anyone's superior officer can deploy them to any country they wish!

That would be more meaningful if you could actually recognize it.

The first paragraph, yes. Not the second.
