Coming from a nation that has never been one of the 'players',it matters little to me.

But a lot of Americans seem to be quite attached to being No. 1.
...and you can blame it all on big government, liberal progressives.

To get back to what I was getting at in the OP....

How many Americans will be okay with no longer being the world power?

To no longer be able to count on the power of this nation to fund our way of life?

There is a lot more to falling from power than just not being the worlds policeman.

The fact that my little state of Massachusetts has a GDP 30% higher than that of your whole nation means we probably have a ways to go. But thank you for your concern.

The Chinese won't do jack sh-t! The world should shudder at the thought of a post-American world but they don't. They think it will be a good thing. It is profoundly shortsighted.

Why? Maybe we will be a step close to world peace then. Think about it. A world without weapons and war. that would be awesome

This nation has been in far deeper holes before. The last one was after WW2 and it took 15 years to retire the debt.

China certainly won't take on the cost of policing the world, that is a waste of money.

But China will soon be the world power, that isn't in dispute,at least not outside of the USA.
