They lack cajones. Gadgets alone don't win wars or influence friends or enemies.

So you are saying that the citiznes of Europe and Asia are biased, judgemental and stereotype against American travelers just because they are American.

It may not matter that said travelers are courteous and respectful but since they are American they are evil.

Sorry I do not buy it. This is a failed Progressive elitist theory.

Citizens of other countries have contempt for tourists who are disrespectful toward the nation they are visiting.

As an European I really don't recognize the view that americans are especially hated. It's true that we dislike your politicians, and propaganda news broadcasting networks, quite a lot. And we think your healthcare system is a joke. But hating americans per se? No.
Most people I know can easily differentiate between how people are as human beings and their poltical beliefs, heck most people at school are going on Exchange to the US.

It's all about jealousy and envy, hell even some Americans hate wealthy Americans, is it any wonder some strangers in another country resent our wealth as a nation?

No, its not. Everything was perfectly fine before Bush and Cheney started to act like arrogant pricks. But I see you are not willing to -for one second- think about the possibility that your behaviour has something to do with the perception we have of you. And that IS the reason people dislike (not hate) Americans. Jesus, its not like we don't have similar living standards (some countries even higher). No ghettos here, free universities etc.

That's what happens when you have the mindset that you are somehow better than anybody just because you are an American.

Also Americans are notorious for traveling to other countries and not respecting the culture, history and language of other people. After all why would you travel to another country where English is not the native language and get indignant that people there do not speak English.

I think this is a very misguided and simplistic interpretation of both domestic class conflict and feelings towards Americans abroad.

Since they don't have the goal of conducting military operations in other countries to support their national policies not much.
