Broadcast that attitude when visiting a foreign nation, and you'll deserve everything the locals can throw at you.
It's not an attitude, its just an observation. Some people carry a chip on their shoulder for other people who are more successful or wealthier then they are. As to my attitude when visiting foreign nations, I've already addressed that.
What are your thoughts of Americans being disliked around most parts of the world ( Europe, Middle East, Asia, Latin countries, etc. )? Some presidents have made decisions that don’t please everybody around the world but why would the citizens get that kind of attitude?
Not true at all. I've traveled all over the world and the people I met love Americans.
That's what happens when you have the mindset that you are somehow better than anybody just because you are an American.
Also Americans are notorious for traveling to other countries and not respecting the culture, history and language of other people. After all why would you travel to another country where English is not the native language and get indignant that people there do not speak English.
There's no incentive for us ignorant Americans to learn the other languages because all the news I read about other countries is printed in American so "they" probably read and write it over there anyways.
Even with their funny accents, I can understand most foreigners when I see them on The Simpsons or Family Guy so with a bit of effort on their part, traveling abroad should be a snap for us.
The one phrase that might be helpful to know when visiting another country is... "how much is that in real money?"

I've actually seen tourists do that one in the wild. They think they're throwing their weight around, but in actuality, they're telling whoever they're dealing with "Exchange rates confuse and baffle me, please rip me off." So the shopkeeper or whoever charges 300% extra, the tourist leaves feeling vindicated, and everybody's happy.
Try Somalia, the tribal regions of Pakistan, or the Muslim controled jungels in Mindinao.
Yeah, OK, point taken. I was thinking more along the lines of tourist destinations.
