What kind of problems. Are you scared of being snorted at.

Looking at some of the other posts in this thread, it's not hard to see why some think us obnoxious...
Why should I care what strangers in another country think about me? I sure as hell don't lose sleep about it, and it's not because I'm arrogant either.

I do look around at the world, and I see how peaceful our protests are. I have seen TEA party groups, abortion groups, anti-war groups and unions protesting against our government, and there are no rubber bullets, no looting, no burning of cars or government buildings, and no military dropping bombs or firing machine guns, and certainly no sexually assaulted TV reporters.

So if some stranger in Europe or the Middle East wants to dislike America and it's people, I really could care less.

One should always care how they come across, to anyone. It's part of being an adult. That doesn't mean we have to kiss ass, but it does mean one should modify one's behavior to fit the situation.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. It's common effin' sense.

I'm not so sure about that.

Which is why the problem never goes away. Maybe if more people DID care, we wouldn't have this perception problem, no?

Apathy, arrogance and chauvinism are not attractive national traits.

Makes us even. With few exceptions, I dislike many parts of the rest of the world.

The reactions of the europeans at the time seemed to vary from one of hostility to a strange sort of being a non-person. People would stand away from you, as if you were a carrier of plague. I always thought that was a little much from a continent that gave us mousilini, franco, hitler, and stalin in the same century.

Who cares. I am only concerned about what my wife and kids think of me. I do not give a damn what anyone else in my neighborhood, let alone the rest of the world thinks about me, my race, thoughts or nationality.

Can anyone tell me why "in the world" would any care what foreign nationals think of us?

Seriously, Its really pathetic. Only an unrefined traveler would resort to lies of this sort.

And I wonder why that person would think highly of Europeans if they are so narrowminded and pea brained to indict all American travelers for the actions of some.

If you are referring to how I present myself in a foreign country? If so, I spent 20 years in the military, and served many times overseas, and I was always mindful of the proper impression I left with the people in those countries.

Now you have lost me. Where did I exhibit or allude to any of those unattractive qualities?

Americans disliked? Maybe our foreign policy, but not the citizens as a whole and I've traveled abroad quite a bit. I remember one time, flying back in from Amsterdam, after taking a vacation around Europe, we flew back into NYC on 9/10/2001. We all know what happened the very next day, on 9/12/2001, I received four international phone calls from different people we had met in The Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy. Knowing that we were from NYC, they were calling us to see if we were OK. So, that whole hate thing? I've never run into it.

ITS Horse Manuer made up by progressive elite.

My brother just returned from an assigment in Brussels. He made many friends over there. Europeans are great people. Too bad the progressive Elites paint them as biased and bigoted against American travelers.
