Exactly how I feel about the abortion folks who just do not get what could possible be wrong with it.
These threads/discussions are pointless, because in most cases neither side will have a change of mind. These threads are only started for argument's sake.
If thats what you think, then why are you bothering to respond?
The bolded is why so many of these arguments don't get resolved. The opposition (pro-life) refuses to understand those of us on 'the other side' are not "pro-abortion" but pro choice. We simply want women to have the choice whether to continue a pregnancy or not.
That is where I see the OP (and the thread title) as poorly worded as well. I don't 'support abortion'. I support a woman's right to choose abortion if she thinks it's best for her. But I would attempt to argue any friend or family member out of it, if given that chance.
I'm the OP.
And I support abortion.
I would be devastated and my life would be ruined if I became a parent.
I think about this from my point of view. I know how devastated some people would be if they had a baby, so I support abortion.
Abortion is the taking of an innocent life which no one has the right to take.
Ok, here is the dilema. This faced women in concentration camps and faces women in today in parts of the world. A woman is pregnant and knows her child will be murdered upon birth. Is abortion still wrong? Or is it OK to have the baby thrown up on the air and used for target practice?
What's immoral is trying to force people to have children that they are incapable of caring for, whether it be financially or otherwise. THEN, at the same time, advocating to abolish welfare.
No method of birth control is 100% effective, and just because most anti-abortion folks are people that others wouldn't want to have sex with anyway, that doesn't give them the right to tell others they must be abstinent or face the consequences.
Exactly. Birth control is not foolproof.
I hate when people say "use birth control if you don't want a baby"
If you are so certain that "that outta squash it," I say we overturn Roe v. Wade (you remember Roe? the woman who is now strongly pro-life?) and give the power back to the states. Some will vote "yes," some will vote "no." You go where you're comfortable. There ya go.
It's not fair to pro-choice people if we limit where they live.
Why should pro-choice people be driven out of a state where they would otherwise like to live?
