It is not about me. I read quite extensively, but if you are hoping to find an objective discussion of the events leading to WWII you will not likely find it in any of the academically accepted text books. The events leading up to the war are glossed over and the war is covered in detail.

IF you know of one of these academically accepted text books, Please do tell.

I think it is a proven fact that it did indeed happen. It was a terrible atrocity. The debate is what were the events that caused it or allowed it to happen and of all of the atrocities in war, was it actually the worst. Certainly, the mass killings of people under Stalin would rival in sheer numbers the amount of people killed in Germany, and the atrocities committed upon the Russians by the Germans were 5 times greater than the amount killed in death camps. It should not be used to in anyway diminish the horrors of the holocaust, but an objective look at the causes would be refreshing.
Don't worry I'm not one of American sheeple I read voraciously and when I first became exposed to and really aware to the Holocaust. My first reaction was not oh those evil Germans. No my first reaction was how could people do such a thing there has to be a reason not presented in Schindlers List, the movie that piqued my initial interest.

What I discovered was things were a lot more complex.

You can't plain speak the truth to much on CD either, otherwise you will be labeled and censored on here to.

If its not books that have led you to the knowledge of the events leading up to WWII, then how do you know what really happened?

I said "Academically accepted books". After seven years of academia, I found that I never had been told the whole story. I have had to do my own research. I have read Mein Kampf and that is a good book to read to understand the mind of a psychopath. However, what I was more interested in was how could so many people put this guy in power, what were the conditions that allowed such a person to rise to power, and could it happen again.

Very true, textbooks are a waste of time I learned that when learning about black American history where topics are boiled down to slavery, emancipation, Jim Crow and MLK.

How many Americans know about the Balfour Declaration? How many know about the communist power grab of Germany in the immediate aftermath of WW1, guess who led that one?

How many know how events in the Ukraine in the 1930s led to Hitlers rise on Germany?

Are you insinuating that its because of some "Jewish" control over academia that the larger story is not known? For decades conservatives have complained that there is a skewed and decisively left leaning bias in the way history is presented.

However conservatives blame, as said, leftist ideology, not ethnicity.

And which group formed modern leftist ideology in the first place? I'm sure it was a "rainbow coalition".
