No one has the right to be where ever they want when ever they want, even if you do it peacefully. And they aren't even all that peaceful. What a bunch of selfish lazy pigs.
Just using your post to keep posting the attack list. Thank you.

You betcha! They were TOLD to leave by the university, by the police and then started surrounding the police.
It only stings for a bit.
Obviously the university doesn't want another stinking, filthy squatters camp on the grounds.

Finkie, good that you posted about Anne Frank, because these 'people' are also ANTI SEMETIC. You just don't have enough information about the OWS.

Actullay jujulu, OWS are INFRINGING on the rest of the peoples rights! They are keeping traffic stopped, and squatting in the middle of the street, They won't let people, enter their job sites, business's are losing money or having to shut down. ONLY THE OWS have first amendment rights? Don't try to make the police,( "God bless them',) out to be some kind of n3zi. You are showing your ignorance. And, if YOU WERE ATTACKED, ROBBED, you would call an OWS for help or the.............wait for it.......................................POLICE?
You don't have the right to sit down where ever you want and stay there however long you want. I think the only place I can do that is my own house and that is only as long as I pay the property taxes.
If I chose instead to sit down at a neighbors house, invited or not, I have to leave eventually. Even if I peacefully just sit there. They have rights.
Even public property. The public means everybody. It can't become your home even if you pitch a tent. You don't have the right to take public access away from everyone else.
Lets see if I can clear this up for you. You can be at your house when ever you want and even then you have to cover the costs of being there. Anywhere else, someone else, be it government or individual or group, gives you the right or permission to be there on their terms. Your home belongs to you and the other places don't. That is not their university. If they pay their student loans then they are paying for the use of it. Why do the protesters think they have more rights than everyone else?
Oh, I think the entire OWS 'movement' is a colossal waste of time and energy. But, Police are supposed to be professionals and a professional would pick up someone in the way and cart their ass off to the pokey.
Not anymore, thanks to trial lawyers. Too many lawsuits and disability claims because of picking people up.
Disgusting, your obvious hatred of police officers.

Updated list as of 11/19/2011 shows 302 'infractions'.
Funny that the person who put up the video didn't include what lead up to the police having to pepper spray them. Pepper spray is far better than bullets.
All that was needed from that video was the first 33 seconds. All I got out of the rest of the video was: Shame on you and that it was 'their university'. Which brings up the point, if it's "their university" then they should damn well pay their student loans rather than ask for a free education.
High five, so true. Typical liberals, they want to be as NASTY, confrontational, attacking, as they WANT TO BE, but if someone, wants to say something about that behavior..............."police brutality, those poor OWS, Kids, etc. " If you can't conduct yourself with some civility, manners, or follow the rules, you deserve EVERY KIND OF restraint that is allowed by the law. OWS, don't care what they do to the rest of society; crap on cop car, (there is a video), another man taking a crap, on top of the American flag. Defecating and urinating all over the place. OH, THERE IS AN OUTBREAK OF TB in those camps now. Such lovely people.
First of all, it's hard to make judgments based on a video that has been edited. People think they see what they think they see, but unless you watch the entire event from beginning to end - which could take hours - there's no telling what happened in the context of the situation as a whole.
I'm quite sympathetic to protesters and their rights, but the rights of peaceable assembly are also balanced with the public interests of maintaining safety and public order. It's a fine line, and sometimes it's crossed by both protesters who are exercising their First Amendment rights and by the police whose job it is to maintain civil order.
From what I can tell, we have two questions:
1) Were the authorities acting within the scope of their authorities to remove by force the protesters in question.
2) If so, did the officers use excessive force, given the fact that the protesters apparently failed to comply with such requests.
From what I can tell and from what I remember about constitutional law, the officers do have the authority to regulate, within reason, protests. Some are obviously arguing otherwise, but I stand by it. The police were not trying to control the message of the protesters. They were not trying to disrupt the protests for the sake of disrupting protests. It would appear that they were acting on what they believed to be a legitimate concern about maintaining public order. The students were, based on what I saw, blocking the flow of pedestrian traffic on a public campus. Protesters have the right to protest, but they do not have the right to block the flow of pedestrian traffic. And this is exactly why, for example, abortion clinic protesters are carried away in handcuffs all the same. They, too, surely argued that it's their First Amendment right to protest, and the Courts responded by pointing out that this is not an absolute 'right' that can be used to interfere with civil order. Thus, I think the officers had every right to ask the protesters to leave.
The next question is less clear. Was pepper spray absolutely necessary in this situation. I am less confident about that, particularly when the officers had not attempted to make an arrest. It would seem that just using pepper spray would need some sort of justification. That would be either in the form of a legitimate case of self-defense, which is not apparent according to the video, or it would be in response to an attempt to subdue a person of interest. Whether it is acceptable to use pepper spray to disperse a crowd is not entirely clear in my mind. Maybe some things were said to the officers that were not audible. But it would seem to me that, at the very least, the police force needs to review its procedures. Whether the students can sue or not is also not clear.
