This was an interesting point someone made. There are things looming and the corporatization continues. I would say we have corporate fascism, but a fish is a fish. (integration of gov/corp)

Even NASA talked not too long ago about preparedness.

Obama Executive Order: Peacetime Martial Law!

"UPDATE: BIN reader Kent Welton writes: This allows for the giving away of USA assets and subsidies to private companies: “(b) provide for the modification or expansion of privately owned facilities, including the modification or improvement of production processes, when taking actions under sections 301, 302, or 303 of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2091, 2092, 2093; and (c) sell or otherwise transfer equipment owned by the Federal Government and installed under section 303(e) of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2093(e), to the owners of such plants, factories, or other industrial facilities.” "

So I guess we've been "Communist" for the last 60 years or so.
Compare the documents from the 50's to now.

It has been changed every 4 yrs. with greater powers given.

On the surface it looks real smart, and has certainly moved the Military machine forward. And has helped during national disasters. BUT, it's reach is different this time, and is being applied to legalize corruption, and potentially Marshall Law if the event lends itself to a blurring of powers.

It's basically the perfect document to give ultimate power for a dictator personality. Not unlike the character of the current POTUS.

WOW!! This is insane. I searched thru this Executive Order -- National Defense Resources Preparedness | The White House and nowhere did I see the authority of congress involved. This entire thing is run by the executive branch and Federal agencies, so much for even requiring congressional authorization.

Sec. 701. The Defense Production Act Committee. (a) The Defense Production Act Committee (Committee) shall be composed of the following members, in accordance with section 722(b) of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2171(b):

(1) The Secretary of State;
(2) The Secretary of the Treasury;
(3) The Secretary of Defense;
(4) The Attorney General;
(5) The Secretary of the Interior;
(6) The Secretary of Agriculture;
(7) The Secretary of Commerce;
(8) The Secretary of Labor;
(9) The Secretary of Health and Human Services;
(10) The Secretary of Transportation;
(11) The Secretary of Energy;
(12) The Secretary of Homeland Security;
(13) The Director of National Intelligence;
(14) The Director of the Central Intelligence Agency;
(15) The Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers;
(16) The Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration; and
(17) The Administrator of General Services.

(b) The Director of OMB and the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy shall be invited to participate in all Committee meetings and activities in an advisory role. The Chairperson, as designated by the President pursuant to section 722 of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2171, may invite the heads of other agencies or offices to participate in Committee meetings and activities in an advisory role, as appropriate.

Complete and utter control have been given to the president, and all the folks he appoints to head up all these government agencies. You get that? They are not elected to power, an yet they have complete power over us. We are a nation run by a benevolent, fascist dictator now.

You are so right but left handed people just can't see any of this especially the part about Congress not being involved. The Congress has sat back and watched the Glorious Leader make them nearly totally irrelevant.

Well the UN did request something like this from him. Do you really think a puppet is so important when you don't even know who else to remove from power? We have to remove him before he gets all the power in the hands of his string pullers.

Don't know why this March article was thrown away and said to be moved to the December 2011 thread. I know it does not look good for obama but he has to live with the consequences of his actions in a election year! Doing crap like this won't get him reelected!

Obama Executive Order: Peacetime Martial Law!
his Executive Order was posted on the WhiteHouse.gov web site on Friday, March 16, 2012, under the name National Defense Resources Preparedness. In a nutshell, it’s the blueprint for Peacetime Martial Law and it gives the president the power to take just about anything deemed necessary for “National Defense”, whatever they decide that is. It’s peacetime, because as the title of the order says, it’s for “Preparedness”.
