Look through this order sign 16 March 2012, pay close attention to section 801.
Kind of makes one wonder what the government is up to.

Executive Order -- National Defense Resources Preparedness | The White House

Looks like we are headed for WWIII.

No reason for such measure unless the POTUS plans to use it.

Interesting line in the document says, during war or peace time.

The United States must have an industrial and technological base capable of meeting national defense requirements and capable of contributing to the technological superiority of its national defense equipment in peacetime and in times of national emergency.

These powers are so extreme. It opens the door for enslaving the whole country. Irony to say the least.

What worries me is what you have highlighted, "in peacetime and time of national emergency" If you read section 801 it spells out the extent of control the federal government will have and it is all encompassing, from your water resources, food recources, medical recourses and even how you will travel.
I'd suggest some of you read this order before making flipit comments on it.

Obama's EO is just amending it to create new bio-fuel initiatives betwen the armed forces and DOA / DOE.

So again: the President has already had the right under certain circumstances to command civilian markets and resources for emergency defense since 1950, and Obama did not just create some new precedent to collectivize the farms and take away your private property.

We need to get back to the Constitution as Ron Paul says and take the power back to wage war and other matters away from these 4 year executive office managers.

Remember what Obama said " you will know me by who I surround myself with" people like Health and Science czar John Holdren and the others
[a bunch of Mao,Che' and Alinsky lovers]
who do have ideas of CONTROL over our lives and could fabricate an emergency to enact Martial Law.

The 1950 law is a direct result of the Cold War and its been over for sometime now with the death of the Soviet Union.Time for appeal and a re-drafting giving this power to Congress not the Executive Branch.

LOL ... drink the kool-aid

No, you have this wrong ... very wrong. This is a straight up EO for the President to take full and unprecedented control over ALL our resources .. and the actions that trigger it are already in motion ...

You liberals are turning a blind-eye to this very evil force that will severely and negatively impact your life as well ..

(1) the Secretary of Agriculture with respect to food resources, food resource facilities, livestock resources, veterinary resources, plant health resources, and the domestic distribution of farm equipment and commercial fertilizer;
(2) the Secretary of Energy with respect to all forms of energy;
(3) the Secretary of Health and Human Services with respect to health resources;
(4) the Secretary of Transportation with respect to all forms of civil transportation;
(5) the Secretary of Defense with respect to water resources; and
(6) the Secretary of Commerce with respect to all other materials, services, and facilities, including construction materials.
(e) “Food resources” means all commodities and products, (simple, mixed, or compound), or complements to such commodities or products, that are capable of being ingested by either human beings or animals, irrespective of other uses to which such commodities or products may be put, at all stages of processing from the raw commodity to the products thereof in vendible form for human or animal consumption. “Food resources” also means potable water packaged in commercially marketable containers, all starches, sugars, vegetable and animal or marine fats and oils, seed, cotton, hemp, and flax fiber, but does not mean any such material after it loses its identity as an agricultural commodity or agricultural product.

By the way, no one can really "end this." You can take some steps to reduce the risk, but even so, sometimes **** happens. We're human, and you can't pacify everyone all the time. So logic suggests that every developed nation will have some sort of a contingency policy like this. It's unfortunate, but that's how it is.
No, this will be triggered by economic collapse and civil unrest ... which will happen very soon ...

Saddled by WWIII.

This document gives POTUS the power to draft and deploy when ever he wants.

He is using this as a legal maneuver based on impeachment actions in the house, over the bombing of Libya.

Welcome to Marshall law, and ultimate power over people, food, and fuel supplies.

My question is "Why now"; why did Obama enact this now. A couple of points to ponder: 1) According to recent polls only 28% od Americans agree with Obamas overall handeling of the administration. His chances of re-election are in question.

Call me paranoid if you choose, but it wouldn't be beyond him to provoke a confrontation with Iran with the aid of Israel and then declare an out right war with Iran, then he would enact this P/O declaring martial law, and elections would be curtailed. The draft would be reinstated, property and recourses would be siezed, and Obama would have the government he has always wanted.
But, hey, this is just me.
