(*) No, people who want their government to intrude even more into employers and employees affairs, should move to countries where this is already done, rather than try to change the govt we have here and force it upon people who don't want it

Next time read your job contract before signing it and if you don't like something you have to negotiate. You can do it without the government.
Unlike all other industrial/western nations in the World - the United States does not mandate any employees getting any paid/unpaid days off from work. So it is up to every company to decide how many days or weeks an employee will get, if any at all.
Most European and other industrial countries give its employee 3 - 6 weeks off + paid holidays, while the U.S. has no minimum law.
Should the United States mandate companies giving paid time off/vacation days for all workers like all other industrial countries?
Some employees are not worth it. One of my service techs gets a paid vaca. The other one is lucky to have a job . As he is already overpaid , if I had to give him a paid Vaca I would probably lay him off instead. The profit he generates just dosnt support it.

God knows without the government I would never have any vacation or sick time. Oh wait a minute...........

Companies need regulation. We set regulations with regard to health and safety so why not for vacation? Most European countries do that and it doesn't negatively affect productivity.
Yes it does. I have spent a lot of time working with French and UK co-workers.... their productivity is atrocious.
