Because 99% of ALL union political money goes to the democrats.

With the GOP ascendency of control in state legislatures around the country, the unions should have thought long ago about hitching their wagon to one particular party.
Who would've guessed that Unions would give money to the party not trying to end their existence.

I don't know what universe you live in but my school district negotiates hard with the union.

I'm sure there are exceptions to everything. But the earlier stats where teachers unions give 90% to democrats and 0% to republicans illustrates how politically motivated they are. the relationship between the public sector unions and the politicians is incestuous.

In NY State, school districts are non-partisan and politicians do not get involved in the process. NYC is different, the mayor negotiates and has been a ball buster.

Texas is a right to work state and teacher unions are optional.
And you all know how conservative Texas is.
With that said Texas teacher unions gave to Democrats twice as much as to Republicans.
No, they are not bipartisan in Texas.

This is just 2004-2006. They don't have more current figures. 2008-current would have been more interesting to read though.

Talk about prisons. In India they are using prisoners for data entry work.
And it's for banking no less !

Radiant Info Systems has come to a deal with the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh to hire 200 inmates of a state jail to work on data entry, and the processing and transmitting of information.

"The idea is to ensure a good future for the educated convicts after they come out of jail," CN Gopinath Reddy, director general of prisons in Andhra Pradesh, told the BBC.

Because it's a fact that no worker is required to become an actual union member before or after getting a job in a unionized work place.

In some places you can only get work by going through a union hall. You cannot apply directly for a job.

If that meant a lot of people were working at or slightly above minimum wage and not receiving much in the way of benefits, then why the hell didn't workers organize to throw the union out and enjoy a raise in pay?
