I don't know why the left/dems think public sector employees should be a protected, privileged class...oh wait....yes I do!
Because 99% of ALL union political money goes to the democrats.
With the GOP ascendency of control in state legislatures around the country, the unions should have thought long ago about hitching their wagon to one particular party.
Who would've guessed that Unions would give money to the party not trying to end their existence.
The teachers and the union bosses, and the politicians all sit down to negotiate, and everyone leaves the table a winner. Teachers get more pay and/or benefits, union bosses get more money from increased dues, politicians get more campaign donations and more campaign and political issue ads. It's just one big circle jerk, where everyone gets pleasured.... all at taxpayer expense. But who cares, since taxpayer money is freeeeeeeeee....
I don't know what universe you live in but my school district negotiates hard with the union.

I'm sure there are exceptions to everything. But the earlier stats where teachers unions give 90% to democrats and 0% to republicans illustrates how politically motivated they are. the relationship between the public sector unions and the politicians is incestuous.

In NY State, school districts are non-partisan and politicians do not get involved in the process. NYC is different, the mayor negotiates and has been a ball buster.
Texas is a right to work state and teacher unions are optional.
And you all know how conservative Texas is.
With that said Texas teacher unions gave to Democrats twice as much as to Republicans.
No, they are not bipartisan in Texas.
This is just 2004-2006. They don't have more current figures. 2008-current would have been more interesting to read though.
It did, but it required paying Chinese workers next to zero an hour.
nothing is cheaper than prison labor, welcome to walmart
unlike our prison system, their inmates dont have lawyers and their inmates are found fit to work 100% by the chinese prison doctor.
good thing our federal government is providing fair trade agreements in the world economy.

Talk about prisons. In India they are using prisoners for data entry work.
And it's for banking no less !
"The idea is to ensure a good future for the educated convicts after they come out of jail," CN Gopinath Reddy, director general of prisons in Andhra Pradesh, told the BBC.
Of course it's about choice. Under the new law, workers will have the CHOICE to join the union or not. Before that law, workers did not have a choice; they were REQUIRED to join the union. This law does not deny anyone the right to petition or to organize. It simply removes the requirement they do so. Why does that bother you?
Because it's a fact that no worker is required to become an actual union member before or after getting a job in a unionized work place.
Yes. When I was 16 I was forced to join a union while working for a grocery store. They did NOTHING for us but happily collected our dues.
If that meant a lot of people were working at or slightly above minimum wage and not receiving much in the way of benefits, then why the hell didn't workers organize to throw the union out and enjoy a raise in pay?
