Since I can't rep people more than once, let me say that cinebar, kshe95girl, justNancy, mmmjv and a few others here have at least restored my faith in the intelligence and decency of people on this board.
I haven't read one single comment from a Republican on this thread decrying Nugent's comments. Instead we get excuses and people equating Maher to Nugent.
Contrast this with Democrats who almost all publicly denounced the words of the woman who said Mitt Romney's wife didn't work. La di da, she didn't threaten to behead Romney's wife, and yet we were willing to say that's not cool.

That's true. The Obamas immediately apologized to Ann Romney, although I totally agree with what Hillary Rosen said. She never said a stay-at-home mother doesn't play an important role or handle responsibilities. She was only pointing out the truth. Someone with that kind of wealth cannot possibly relate to a parent who doesn't know if she and her children will have a place to sleep or food on the table. I didn't hear any threats or even malice coming from Ms Rosen. It's not as if she posted a map with crosshairs over their house.

Except that Obama and all of the well-known liberals denounced the statement. I also think she was wrong. I happen to be liberal and was a stay-at-home mom for years when my kids were little. So your statistic is meaningless. I guess facts have never gotten in the right wing's way.
By the way, still waiting for you to say that Nugent's comments should be denounced...
Because I was responding to someone saying something about Nugent being a good guitar player and kshe95girl said that she could play guitar, too, and I was making the comparison that even though Nugent had sex with underage girls, at least kshe95girl does NOT have sex with underage boys.
I was trying to make a joke, that even though both Nugent and kshe95girl both play guitar, that is likely the ONLY thing they have in common.
My comment had absolutely NOTHING to do with Bill Mahar and the fact that he has a t.v. show, and if that's the way you took it, then that's your problem.
If you can prove otherwise, go for it.

Rosen also apologized immediately and clarified what she meant. In fact, her apology sounded very sincere because she didn't make excuses.
Still, I don't know how most stay-at-home mothers can compare themselves to Ann Romney. Mitt Romney's father was the President of General Motors and Governor of Michigan. It's not as if they ever had to struggle a day in their lives. I'm not judging them for that (I wish I had millions!) but they do not represent the average American family.
