Bob, it appears that most of your posts are questions.

And I question the validity of those "questions."

The final ruling is expected to be released in the next few weeks.

But for the last three months, American opinion has been pretty unchanging: They want it GONE.

If the Supremes strike down the entire law, that's that.

But if they strike down only the mandate as unconstitutional, but leave the rest, then Obamacare will die a long, slow death. Chronically ill people will continue to sign on, in hopes of taking more from the system than they put in; while healthy people (which is most Americans) will avoid it like the plague. And so the insurance companies who must support it, will be drained of resources faster and faster, until they go out of business.

Hopefully the Supremes will make it quick and merciful... for the country, not for the Obamanites.

Poll: Most Americans want full or partial overturn of health care law

by Paige Winfield Cunningham

More than two-thirds of Americans hope the Supreme Court justices will overturn some or all of President Obama's health care overhaul when they announce their decision later this month, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll released Thursday morning. Forty-one percent of respondents said they want the court to undo the entire law, while another 27 percent said it should strike the individual mandate to buy health insurance but leave the rest of the law intact.

The poll showed little change in public opinion since March, when the court considered constitutional challenges to the law in a marathon week of hearings.

Always the inconsistencies...There is no way the insurance companies can maintain the insure preconditions without the universal mandate. So those polled want to remove the source of the funds while taking full advantage. Don't you love it? Now how does it come out if you couple the mandate and pre-existing conditions? And the requirement to insure in spite of pre-conditions was supported by 80%?

I don't think it needs to be overturned. It needs to be amended.

People should be allowed to opt out for any reason. If you are happy with your current insurance, you can opt out. If you think this whole thing reeks of Communism, you can opt out. If you think you are invincible, you can opt out.

However, if you opt out, your name is put in a national database that is accessible by any healthcare professional. If you are on that list and require medical care, you need to either show that you have your own insurance, or you must pre-pay and show proof that you have sufficient funds to pay for treatment. If you have neither and still opted out, you are out of luck and must depend on the charity and compassion of your fellow citizens. There should be no government program to ensure basic treatment for you.

That way, everybody gets what they want. No more free loaders. No forced insurance.

And so we'll do nothing... and health outcomes will continue to trail expenses per capita, which will continue to be among the highest in the first world. And health care expenditure as a percentage of GDP will continue to grow by leaps and bounds, putting a severe strain on future GDP. And the tens of millions with no health insurance will continue to grow. But I guess that's what we want.
We could have done something if Obama had only done it as he promised during the campaign. Instead he decided to turn it over to the dumbsy twins, Pelosi and Reid.

If you listen carefully to Pelosi's words, 'we have to pass it to see what is in it"... the implication she makes is that once it is passed and we see what's in it, we then have an opportuinty to reject it. So we reject it.

Thank you Nancy and all the other elected representatives of the people who passed this thinly disguised social reform with just a hint of healthcare tossed in, without readin it!!!!!!! You have relinquished your sworn responsibility to the people and should be prosecuted for breech of contract.

Just as a technical error allows a felon to 'walk', obamacare should be discarded because it was passed without reading or understanding the legal implications of 2700 pp of legislation.

Remember, O-care is just another way to impose a TAX in the midst of a recession, not unlike FICA was a new tax in the midst of the Depression.

Pshaw, you didn't KNOW?
Property Rights: The Hidden Issue of Social Security Reform, Cato Social Security Choice Paper No. 19
"One of the most enduring myths of Social Security is that a worker has a legal right to his Social Security benefits. Many workers assume that, if they pay Social Security taxes into the system, they have some sort of legal guarantee to the system's benefits. The truth is exactly the opposite. It has long been law that there is no legal right to Social Security. In two important cases, Helvering v. Davis and Flemming v. Nestor, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Social Security taxes are simply taxes and convey no property or contractual rights to Social Security benefits."
There's no "right" to entitlements.
And there's no "right" to healthcare under O-care.
It's a convoluted scam.

Well those "most Americans" should have spoken up and wrote their Congress person BEFORE Obamacare was passed.

Now they don't like it..gee. They better hope that the Supreme Court rules in their favor then.

They did. It took bribing a few select elected officials to get it passed.
