Just like in Australia........ The Physicians and the private health nsurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies ALL condemned a Govt. funded health care system. Why? Because they feared losing huge revenues.... Just like the Doctors etc do here............. NOTHING to do with what is best for the Countries Citizens. Australia created a UHC and it works great and the Doctors now accept it and still earn great money.
If you want to be dictated to by the bank balances of the Doctors, insurance companies etc then listen to these self righteous, self centred greed driven azzholes.
Obama could only pass the current affordable health care act by allowing "pork" into the bill for votes and he knows that this is the first step to real health care reform here......... it isn't what he wanted but it still helps millions of Citizens.
Real health care reform is badly needed here to get the American health system out of the dark ages....... it is more expensive per capita than Govt. funded health care and abuses millions of Americans.
I have a working knowledge of Govt. funded health care and also i use the American health system and without a doubt, the American system falls far below even the Taiwan, Cuban and any other health system with a UHC.
Being a great Doctor does not mean you want what is best for the Countries health system but they want what is best for their bank balance..........
Pretty Disgusting for a Country such as America but that is the truth of the matter........

Most Americans want social security and medicare left unchanged, massive cuts on defense, and taxes raised on the rich.

A massive percent in fact, 70% of Americans want that.

But Republicans don't seem to be listening to that one......

Nothing in place already will be repealed. Deal. The only way it could happen is if something equal or better replaced it. The mandate to purchase is really the only thing on the table.

I cannot understand the so called outcry from the right here that THEY do NOT want o pay for other peoples health care yet the current health system here makes every tax payer, pay for the health care of others. When the ER is used no matter who by, whether legal or illegals we pay for their treatments when they say they cannot afford it.
With a UHC WE pay for US to get treatment and our LOVED ones not just Strangers in the ER.

Most Supreme Court Justices want it, though.

All I've got to say is if the American people don't want it - they need to speak up in November 2012. That is the last option. AND Congressmen who want to repeal needs to have a plan in place - they need to run their campaign on it - and be quick to implement it if they win out.

That's it. All other roads lead to single payer government controlled health care.
