I agree. I doubt we're talking about straight wages.
Besides, if meter maids have to give out tickets to people, that's not an easy job. You take a sh*tload of abuse and anger from people, and you're on your feet all day. Who am i to cast aspersions on what they earn?
It total compensation. And its a friggin meter maid. You can hire a high school graduate to do the damn job. Or someone with a GED.
Regardless, another 8 employees are making $67,367 to $84,267 in total compensation.
This is tax payer money. Just because we want people to live well, doesnt mean you over pay them for a job nearly anyone could do.
Liberals are always so careless with other peoples money, especially tax payers. And then you wonder why we get into issues. Some of the biggest problems we have country wide is with tax payer paid benefits, retirements, and salaries to public employees.

So what? A high school grad could do your job too, and the same goes for me. That doesn't mean i'm overpaid.
And again, i don't live in California, so why should i give a damn? That's for the residents of those communities to determine, not outsiders. If they have no issues with it, then why should I?

Gee, I wonder why states like California are having money problems.....
You can say, its only about $1 million, but it adds up folks. Many of you are against cuts, your against curbing union benefits paid by tax payers....it all adds up. This is abuse and I think its safe to say, its not the only abuse going on in California and across the country.
If some of these guys are making this much doing an idiots job, how much are police and fireman getting? Most enlisted personnel in the military dont make this much and most of them dont get the deal union teachers and the like get.
Sell California to the Chinese. Then they will be happy, and the rest of the US will be happy.
The government has a monopoly on parking enforcement, so it is immune to competition for wages like the rest of us.
Also guaranteeing the least motivated and most rude will hold those jobs.
$35 an hour is approximately 72K. Making 30K in overtime would take a lot more than "a bit of overtime"
And you think making $72 a year/ $35 and hour for being a parking meter is justifiable? In what friggin world? When the tax payers are footing the bill that is complete idiocy to be paid that much for a job anyone can do.

The worst part is, there are people that think this sort of pay is justifiable for the job being done, even if the tax payer has to foot the bill. Unreal
