I don't need to. You think those 12-20 million illegals are going to leave and "apply" the legal way ?
ROFL..no my friend. There will be amnesty with a pledge to toughen up on illegals.

What do you think they are going to do..abolish border control ? Close the border crossing checkpoints and just let everyone walk on over ?

Deja vu ?

Immigration reform is a euphemism for amnesty. Now, how about addressing the rest of my post?

Yup, The U.S. is a free country because you feel free.

Here's an actual definition of amnesty:

Amnesty | Define Amnesty at Dictionary.com

From the proposals I've read, none would qualify as amnesty.

Yet politicians always use the word amnesty like in gun buy backs, etc. Now, instead of skirting around and playing around with words, why are you against the working poor and the unions? It's interesting about you mainstream Democrats. You're all about supporting the working poor and the unions, but you'd support measures that would undermine your base. Why is that? So you can claim moral victory over the GOP? It's the GOP that supposed to be supporting illegal immigrant amnesty, not the Democrats

We could ask the hundreds of thousands of people in prison for victimless crimes how free they think the U.S. is.

Or how about the family who was facing fines of hundreds of dollars per day for the heinous crime of growing nutritious food in their front yard.

Should we ask the countless people who have lost their homes to the government for the offense of not paying government rent (err taxes) how free this country is when government can take property you allegedly own?

The list of offenses perpetrated upon we the people by the federal government is never ending, yet only a fool could believe this is truly a "free" country.

Amnesty would be a complete granting of citizenship rights without penalties and stipulations. What the Senate is working on and what Boehner has talked about don't fit the definition of amnesty.

I'm sure that won't stop people, who don't actually understand the debate, from calling the whole complicated process as amnesty.
