He said God expects a flat tithe which is perfectly proportional at 10 percent – applied to government, that would be a flat tax.

Well some people say, ‘well that’s not fair,’ because it doesn’t hurt the guy who made 10 billion dollars,” Carson said, anticipating the counterargument. “Where does it say you have to hurt the guy? He just put $1 billion in the pot. We don’t hurt him. It’s that kind of thinking that has resulted in 602 banks in the Cayman Islands.”

He is a success so what is your point?

You're point is to try to justify why people are on welfare. BIG DIFFERENCE is lifelong welfare and becoming a success. You're attempt to justify lifers with attitude problems is a big FAIL!

There is no way to justify someone who thinks it is ok to live off the labor of others while doing nothing to help themselves get out. People don't have a problem with helping people but people do have a problem with supporting people who refuse to help themselves. My point, don't bother trying to justify yourself. Bottom line, if you live life off the labor of others without trying to get off then what you are doing is greedy and wrong.

Then the man should thank those who made these government programs available that helped, shouldn't he? Instead, he goes around complaining and criticizing these things.

I see you ignored my previous post about Affirmative Action. His mother was a housekeeper who worked many hours each week. She had a third grade education and an abusive spouse that left her a single mother.

I have no idea is she did accept welfare/food stamps, but here's what I do know. She worked to support her family and she was committed to raising educated, self sufficient children. She is a role model. She could have easily chosed to be the victim that's what we see so often in society these days. Everyone is a victim, everyone has an excuse.
If more parents would do what she had done, the food stamp/welfare roles would be much smaller in this nation.

Government assistance didn't get Ben Carson where he is today- if that was the case, everyone who grew up on welfare and food stamps would be successful. Ben Carson's mother is the biggest driver to his success, and then his choice to continue what she had instilled in him/

Translation: When a conservative uses welfare, affirmative action, food stamps and other safety net programs, it is justified. It's only the left-leaning recipients who are the lazy leeches.

No need to respond with the expected outrage--those of us who are discerning get your meaning perfectly.

Obama has done nothing for blacks other than look a little bit like one of them. The black population of America is in crisis. IF a change does not come soon- America is doomed to slowly become a third world nation no matter how rich some Americans perceive the nation. The black population is huge..what happens if the black population is further degraded will effect EVERYTHING.

Liberal progressives assume that if you are black you are inferior...and only they can take care of you as if you were a child. It's all part of a political and social perversity that is enhanced by the so-called poverty industry that exists to lessen white liberal guilt.

If there is a black hero - no matter how imperfect they might be - they must be put forward..Obama is not a very good role model. The idea of "look we are all equal we have a black president" is not going to cut it. It is an illusion. Obama and his family have become white elitists. To watch the First Lady roll her eyes like a contempt filled school girl also does not cut it.

Let the best rise to the top for a change..not just those that will be henchmen for the status quo..that as we know is in a sad state when it comes to real social responsibility. The black community has a tremendous amount of talent and desire to step up and make a better nation...To start nipping any upward movement in the bud as in regards to this man persecuted by political correctness is to cut the nation throat...It's just not wise.. Look at Martin Luther King...a man with imperfections that changed the world and is truly a hero and saint.

What if political correctness was as powerful back in King's time as it is now? There would be no Martin Luther King....The politically correct insane left would have oppressed Doctor King out of existence by saying..."He was a womanizer" as if loving females was a sin but loving the same sex is just wonderful.
