I'll update this thread a bit today.

Since the safe passage routes were set up, the have been two shootings in them, so, I find it ridiculous that CPS can even call any of these routes "safe passage" because right now, they are anything but.

5 Injured in Shooting Along Safe Passage Route in Chicago | NBC Chicago

The area of Wilson Avenue and Sheridan Road never used to be this bad in past times.
I'm wonder what CPD is going to do when children begin going back to school? I wonder if they'll make their presence know or if they'll be hiding at dunkin donuts?

If I were McCarthy, I would have hired extra police officers and put them on bicycles and motorcycles with two way radios to patrol these so called safe passage areas.

The area itself {one safe passage-Western Avenue} is a cesspool of drug dealing and homicides. Add to the problems is that children will need to cross Western Avenue, which is one of the busiest streets in Chicago. I know the area, have passed through it many, many times in the past, and it is an area where when a person drives through it, it's best to keep your car doors locked and windows up and be wary of people who might try walking in front of you to get you to slow down or stop.

One or more of these routes in my opinion is a joke because it was reported on Chicago's MSM, cops will not always be available to sit, watch and patrol these areas. Safety for children is largely going to be dependent on CPS new hires to escort children through the areas. These people will need to be alert, street smart and have a keen eye for spotting potential trouble and problems along the way.

BTW, the entire "windy city" is not like this, just for your information.
