It looks like the Speaker is joining the rest of America in calling out the right wing crazies in his party. Rubio and Paul have denounced the budget deal. Could this be the beginning of the long-anticipated battle for the hearts and minds of Republicans?

"They're using our members and they're using the American people for their own goals," an animated Boehner told reporters at the Capitol. "This is ridiculous."

They embraced the lunatic fringe to win elections, or at least keep seats out of the hands of Democrats. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it backfired horribly. They were told by embracing the lunatic fringe, and those not interested in governing, it would be a problem later.

Boehner needs to own up and accept some responsibility for doing so, as he was an active supporter, and work with those not in the lunatic fringe to fix it. Either that, or try and force those candidates to change like he has been...talking at them. Which is likely to do no more but make them dig in their heels and oppose him even more stridently, starting an internal conflict.

The mainstream R's are the ones using the people for their own goals, which is to retain their grip on power.

Maybe during budget debates we'll be treated to Fox in socks, or one fish two fish red fish blue fish.

Boehner is an idiot. "Sequestration" is the law of the land, the same as Obamacare is. You can't just ignore the law because it is politically expedient. Republicans selling out on the reductions in spending increases associated with sequestration are liars of the worst sort. Well, maybe not as bad as the lying fear mongers within the Dem party that paint reductions in spending increases as disasters, but close.

Which is what, more responsible spending of taxpayer money from our government? Oh, the horror, the horror.

What exactly are you babbling about, what position does the rest of the country hold to? Do we want to hit $20 trillion in debt as soon as possible?

We know what the establishment Republicans want, and what the entire Democratic Party want; endless spending with no restraints and no accountability to the public.

Boehner may join Obama in finding himself on the outside looking in in his party.

I think we know who the idiot is.

You act as if NO law has ever been replaced by another law.

At one time blacks and women couldn't vote. Prohibition laws were cancelled. 55 MPH was once the "law of the land" I could go on and on but, you probaly still wouldn't get it.

Your assertion that, " You can't just ignore the law" is pure poppycock and based on nothing.
