They are a private company, they can listen to whomever they choose to. Heck, they could have fired him before getting any feedback from the public at all.
I don't think anybody is denying that...but why not answer the rest of his question....
Why did gladd have to speak out to A&E to get them to do anything?

Why does any group of people speak out for any reason? This was obviously something GLAAD was against and made it publicly known they were against what Phil said. Why do you feel the need to publicly state what you state?
In the end, A&E is a PRIVATE COMPANY and that company choose to handle the situation the way they did, you should be commending A&E for exercising their private company rights and handling an employee how they felt best fit their own brand. No one forced A&E to suspend Phil....heck, did they even fire him or just suspend him?
Then why didn't they do so instead of bowing to the pressure from GLAAD?
GLAAD is nothing but a hunch of bullies who want to squash dissent contrary to their views wherever it is found.
Huh? So you would rather A&E bow to the pressure of those that think they shouldn't do anything at all? A&E is a private company, they can hire and fire their employees for any reason, this is their reason for suspending him because it would be a negative thing for their brand, that has nothing to do with GLAAD.
GLAAD didn't force the people of A&E to suspend anyone, they simply voiced their opinion on this topic, just like you are doing.

There was no such pressure.
There was pressure from the hate group GLAAD.
