Africans were not selling "their people" to Europeans. They were selling their enemies in the next town or next tribal territory to the Europeans.
Their enemies in the next town over in the next tribe were also Africans which means they were indeed "their people". Your attempts to dismiss facts are pathetic.
They have a court ordered injunction that allows them to go take the cattle. Bundy had ample warning to move them, and he's refused every step of the way. Anyone pretending this is the federal government picking on some hapless farmer and overusing their force is just being purposefully ignorant and disingenuous.
When your child continuously ignores your orders, ignores your passive threats of punishment, at some point you swoop in, spank his ass and take his toys away.
Great post. Ignore the courts and you will get the horn.

So, the federal government came in and took land he has been homesteading since 1877, because of a tortoise.
They are not prepared to hold and transport to auction.
Sorry but not one credible news outlet is currently reporting this.

God Bless this man.
The hypocrisy of the left is overwhelming in this thread.
It's okay for some people to break the law...hell, let's give them "amnesty" to stay here, illegally.
But a rancher, whose family has been there forever? NO! Threaten him with guns and dogs, take his cattle away to be slaughtered, and give us another Waco. Make up a story about how it's about fees, try to cover up that it's about a turtle.
I saw a little blip earlier that some militia were gearing up to go to NV to stand with the rancher. Good. These Feds are out of control.

Bundy is a thief stealing from all of us.
Yet, it's really not about the money or are you missing that it's about the tortoise. Which, many of these tortoises were released due to being pets and the sanctuary is closing in Dec of this year.
Actually, numbers range from 2% to as high as 10% in some areas of free blacks owned black slaves.
The counterpoint is, "well at least some of those owned family members."
The counter-counter point is, why would they just not free their family member, as would be their right with respect to their own property?
That slavery was limited PRIMARILY to Africans is the source of consternation and legacy of problems for the community as a whole in the 100 years after slavery. But the shame of slavery during that time period extended to exploitation of anyone those with the resources could exploit. Including, a far far less number of white slaves:

Somehow the tortoise wasn't one of the animals they seem to know.
The page you linked to states, "Here are the American Indian names of six native animals of Nevada." It doesn't say those are the only native animals of Nevada.
