I have been to several places this evening (Whole Foods, mall, and Target) and it seemed like few people there were speaking English - people were speaking in languages other than English. Does going into a public place and hearing a lack of English, especially in a nonethnic neighborhood, bother you?

Actually it somehow makes the inane banter most people blather in public a little more interesting.

Would rather listen to someone rant about something in a foreign language than hear about how some lady's colonoscopy went that morning. People talk about the weirdest stuff in the grocery store, a lot of times I'd rather not understand what they are saying.

No. People often speak other languages in public where I live. But I do get bothered when someone has lived in the country illegally for many years and can't speak a word of English.

Nope. I sometimes hear Navajo.

They were here first.
