I'm a believer in "select fire" weapons and think the registry should be reopened ASAP. It's not up to some bureaucrat to decide whether or not I am firing semi/tri-burst/full auto. It my thumb on the selector, my index finger on the trigger, my weapon, my ammo, my money....my enjoyment, my hobby, my life.
By the way....MAC-10s weren't $500 in 1986 and before. You could get an UZI for that.
That MAC-11/10 was $350-400 typically.
I still kick myself in the ass for passing up a HK MP5SD in 1997 FOR $5,500 +$200/+200 ($400) as well.
Wow..Such great times..And the dollar had more buying power..Remember when gas cost .99 cents?
Same thing happened to toolbags who paid $2,000-$3,000 for an AR. They also paid $250 for a preban Glock 17 mag. Whoopsie....September 10th 2004........The day AWB94 dies.
$$$$$$$$$$$$<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Say thing for people paying 60$ for P-Mags after the sandy hook shooting..

Back in the day a friend my Dad and I bought a Colt Government M16A1 at a local show for $1,200. He panicked the whole time home of how his wife was gonna kill him. lol
Those were the days....Dave still has it too.
Only it's worth five figures now.....he's been offered 10k for it and turned it down.
I have seen people get $30,000 for one, only because some fools from New Jersey slid a illegal amendment into the final bill.....
Good thing the titans gun grabber are on average 75 or older, they will start to drop like flies in the coming years.
I have never met one who says such..And hey you bought it as a investment which has risk of loss of principal.
Some like a MG42 or STG-44 or WW B.A.R or Thompson would keep like 90% of their value.
I personally do not plan on ever selling my BAR's, or my Thompson 1928 trench broom.
They were my Great Grandpa's and handed down. My daughter will get them when I'm dead.
With all the anti-gun nits out there and the price of ammo sky high there for a moment, I have not exercised them in years. I need to clean them up and take them hog hunting, for kicks.

If you want fun use a 2 liter soda bottle lay it on its side on stand, use super glue to glue one some number four shot and fill it with tanninite. One round 5 hogs down.
Have you used those two for hog hunting before?
Ever see the video of people using full autos to hunt pigs from choppers in Texas?
All in all $1,200 was a lot of money back then. You could buy a brand new stripped down Ford Ranger for $5,800 or a typical sedan for around $8,000- $10,000.
He saved up it for a long time. It was well worth it. I put my money into other avenues and they have paid off nicely just the same. Lots of rare and discontinued stuff.
Class III is still high on the list of want to own personally. I've shot "many" but they weren't "mine".
Guns are an investment. They never depreciate, unless they have been neglected.
My dads old double barrel 12 that he has had since before I was born, he probably paid $25 for, is now worth $1200.
I have dads old 50's Sears & Robuck 30.06, because of the chromed barrel and the Mauser action, it is a very sought after and very accurate rifle, The original scope is a plus for collectors. Who knew.
