A) Sure I do. 95% of the species that ever existed are extinct.....humans have nothing to do with it.

B) I don't deflect, I sleep extremely well!

So, melting ice has helped reduce emissions? And GWNJ's are upset?

I didn't even think of the clothing that could be made....good point!

No, the fault is environmentalists blaming this on climate change when it is not.

Ignorance? This is a thread fail. This issue does not have anything to do with climate change

Large haulouts of walruses — such as the one making news at Point Lay, Alaska on the Chukchi Sea (and which happened before back in 2009) — are not a new phenomenon for this region over the last 45 years and thus cannot be due to low sea ice levels.

The attempts by WWF and others to link this event to global warming is self-serving nonsense that has nothing to do with science.

Here is how the WWF is spinning this recent gathering at Point Lay:

“We are witnessing a slow-motion catastrophe in the Arctic,” said Lou Leonard, WWF’s vice president for climate change.”

As you can see, this is blatant nonsense and those who support or encourage this interpretation are misinforming the public.

There have been several stampedes in recent years does that come as a surprise and 2009 was also dramatic, so? Sea ice has been receding for years due to warming, glad you at least agree with that concept.

Speaking of self serving nonsense Susan Crockford is on the payroll of the Heartland institute, would have been nice if she actually put her name on her blog.

I like to get my science from organizations that like NOAA, USGS, National Geographic not some scientist looking for income that suddenly came up with an opinion that up is down. Love her list of publications if you want to call them that since they are mostly just posts on her blog, all in 2013 what a coincidence.

This is a warning, not that most people needed one but this is severe.

Biggest Walrus Gathering Recorded as Sea Ice Shrinks

Quote:

The gathering of walrus on shore is a phenomenon that has accompanied the
loss of summer sea ice as the climate has warmed.

Pacific walrus spend winters in the Bering Sea.
Females give birth on sea ice and use ice as a diving platform to reach snails,
clams and worms on the shallow continental shelf.

Unlike seals, walrus cannot swim indefinitely and must
rest. They use their tusks to "haul out," or pull themselves onto ice or
rocks.

As temperatures warm in summer, the edge of the sea
ice recedes north. Females and their young ride the edge of the sea ice into the
Chukchi Sea, the body of water north of the Bering Strait.

Thank you for that clarification. Every week seems to bring mounting evidence, to an already mountain of evidence, of the effects of global warming and man's impact on the environment. Just like cancer there are warning signs before the full effect of the sickness is felt. Warning signs everywhere.
