It does not matter that the polar bear numbers were, and still are, increasing. The only thing that mattered to them was locking up all the oil on Alaska's north slope. They got that when the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service locked up 187,000 square miles (about the size of California) of Alaska's north slope as "critical habitat for polar bears."
Now they are trying to pull the same stunt with beluga whales in Cook Inlet, even though there are between 35,000 and 40,000 beluga whales in Alaskan waters and their numbers are also increasing.

Thanks for the info. I saw a vid awhile back with this guy that has been studying polar bears since the 50s and Gore. He made that same point that there is more polar bears now then there were in the 50s., But of course Gore stuck too the script " global warming is a threat to the polar bear population" It never dawned on Gore how stupid he looked and sounded when a expert gave him the facts.
