I have lived in TX a few times and owned a house in SA. I saw too many Mexicans in favor of the illegals, their families, but whined and cried about lack of employment.
Guess what? If you allow them to take your job you won't have one. Maybe they are learning now.
Well you just burst my bubble of hope. I guess it's the same mindset no matter where you live. Reminds me of some bleeding heart liberals I know who defend illegal aliens. They want the minimum wage raised but they can't connect the dots that employers desiring cheap, illegal labor don't even want to pay a fair wage to an American now. Raise the wages for an American and they will just be compelled to look for more cheap, illegal labor. When you suggest that coupled with raising minimum wage e-verify should be mandated as a package deal they just look at you with a blank stare or babble something incoherently.
I've heard that Texan-Americans with roots in Mexico are a different breed from those who live in Calif. and other southwestern states. I guess there is some hope after all.
They are and I know this through actual personal experience. Heck look at the names of the fallen in the Alamo.
Those of the bleeding brain conservative mindset are simply a deluded lot who have failed miserably to comprehend the fact that America will persist into to the future, perhaps to a thousand years and beyond, and in that time they expect things to look just like they did in 1962...
North America, the land mass, is a very different looking place than it was just 500 years ago, and yet some actually expect this changing to come to a halt for the fact that they want it to. Oh they will holler and shout the praises of their favorite bleeding brain conservative leaders who tell them about the evils of the Spanish language being spoken, or about the minimum wage as another evil, or worse yet, the notion that we all just need our own country in order that no one need be offended by any diversity.
These folks are getting old for the most part and I'm guessing that like most of our elder conservative populace they feel a fear of change in ways we could never imagine. They have so little faith in mankind and such a large measure of faith in their political leaders, this is their folly, and this will be what tears apart a nation not a foreign language. The good news is that this group will be making an exit shortly, and like those who loved the confederacy, the KKK, the world before civil rights legislation, Native Americans, and their precious Anglo-ness, their numbers will be diminished and their complaining a mere whisper.

I'm of Irish family and; pretty much ALL of us came to the US legally. You don't wanna face it but; there's a difference between legal and ILLEGAL aliens. Too; many of us died or got killed for many reasons, it is what it is.
Looking at the "Comments" after the articles in the MSM; people are getting madder and madder. Guess what: 1920 saw our borders all but locked down. Then they were opened back up in 1965. Soon they WILL be closed again and, if you don't believe that, that ain't my problem.

WTH is wrong with you? The Irish and other Europeans did not come here illegally. You don't know the difference between them and a bunch of border jumping illegal aliens? Our kind? Our kind are Americans of all stripes that don't want our country overrun with illegal aliens that have no right to be here and desire to retain our identifying culture and language. We just want to go back to the rule of law and that includes our immigration laws. How's that a bad thing while we still allow in over 1 million legal immigrants a year and most of them are Latinos?
