Good to see the governor will not ask for a special session which would cost far more than Davis' salary. The regular session starts next year.

I honestly don't get why people don't get this. It is legal in Kentucky, thereby Kim Davis is infringing on the rights of the homosexuals and heterosexuals seeking marriage licenses.

This is a consequence of multiculturalism - divided USA values - that the American peeps will need to sort out (since their votes don't seem to have a voice - you remember?).

Gay marriage has been voted DOWN in multiple states - you remember?

I'm surprised that you seem surprised by this.

Hello! Welcome to 2015. Most states are now voting for it. Did you know at one point most states voted against letting blacks and whites marry?

Her term started in January, even then the writing was on the wall for this. She can't exactly claim that its a complete surprise.

True but until now the Supreme Court really didn't get involved in these issues (other than specific rights for states that allowed same-sex civil unions.) This ruling proved that gay marriage bans on the state level and national laws like DOMA are unconstitutional as per the 14th amendment.

YES. Under the authority of God, she surely pretty strongly feels that her adulterous sex acts are far less offensive before God than the sex acts that married same sex couples perform.

What's the matter Kim, is jail making you re-think "God's laws"???

Kim Davis asks Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear to free her - CNNPolitics.com
Oh for goodness sake. This woman thinks too much of herself. As a clerk, even an elected clerk, she's just filling out paperwork. It's not up to her to make legal judgement calls about the potential marriage. That's what I think so many people don't understand about this situation. Anyone in that job might very well have their own ideas about marriage, could be making side glances at a couple...don't like the looks of them, imagine they have 6 months at the most. Just do your freaking job and think whatever you want about the folks you are serving.

No they weren't. Terms of her job was to follow the law and fill out paperwork. She doesn't have to personally approve of every couple who applies. Doesn't have to like them. Doesn't have to think they are adorable.

What Constitutional authority was used to "rule" acts of the people unconstitutional?

What Constitutional authority does the federal government have to regulate marriage?

When did the Tenth Amendment become null and void?

The language of the Constitution is such that anyone can understand its meaning.

The only reason to "interpret" the meaning of a simple document is to pervert and distort it as has been done.

Jindal was correct.

It`s time to get rid of the Court.
