So she basically wants the terms of her job to change, but obviously she doesn't want to make any less taxpayer dollars

No the U.S. government did when the Supreme Court ruled that you have to give marriage licenses to any couple regardless of sexuality. Supreme Court overruled that right as per the 14th amendment.
