Yep, that is President Obama's version of compromise. Who wants to deal with that kind of implacable attitude?

Let him veto it then. If congress can vote to repeal Obamacare 56 times, why can't they vote on an immigration bill? This immigration bill would give us citizens something to consider for the upcoming election (or is that what Ryan is really afraid of?).

They won't work on any meaningful change until he is gone. DESPITE the fact that their caucus wants them to and let their bill be vetoed if that's what happens. At least they are DOING SOMETHING.

Bottom line, they don't want Obama to be able to claim any more of his legacy.

That's the real issue, I would bet.

Yep. A thinly veiled excuse by Ryan.

Barack Obama is a pathological liar and the most effective enemy our country has ever faced.

Paul Ryan is right not to trust him and he is also right to put this important matter off until we get a trustworthy president in office.

President Obama's legacy in part is the attempt to validate thousands of people who broke the law by coming to the United States illegally and then demanded that they be allowed to stay as full citizens. The added bonus of course is that if he is able to accomplish what they are demanding they will quite likely vote for the Democrat party. If Paul Ryan hopes to work with someone besides President Obama in aproximately a year, why would that be surprising?

Hyperbole much?

I hope Paul and Hillary get along.

That's exactly what they are doing. H.B. 213
This is similar to a Bill passed in the House with huge bi-partisan support last year. It got nowhere in the Senate of course under Harry Reid's control. The new HB213 hasn't moved (or it's companion bill in the Senate) since it was introduced, by more cosponsors are still signing on.

IF any Immigration bills get through the House & Senate - Obama will VETO them. He doesn't want anything but HIS Comprehensive Amnesty Immigration. That's exactly why the 2013 Bill that the bi-partisan group was working on failed. It's Amnesty or Nothing for Obama and he KNOWS that will never pass ...... they don't want any Immigration Reform at all. They would then lose the Victim Club used as Campaign Rhetoric to get out the Vote in elections.

Immigration Legislation is TOXIC to Republican voters because they don't understand the complicated issues - a few LOUD voices have taken over the dialog. A few Leftists (like TeamObama) gain a lot more by stalling any REAL reform and use Immigrants (both Legal & Illegal) as "Get out the Vote" cannon fodder. They do this because it's a Play in their Playbook that has long been successful.

Perhaps somebody will come along and have a coherent Voice to make sense of it all, but I'm not holding my breath. Both Political Parties are too Polarized.

We don't need a new immigration law. The ones we have are fine. We need to enforce them including kicking out all those who broke the law in coming and remaining here. Rubio's gang of eight plan is simply to increase the number of foreigners allowed in to take Americans' jobs while granting amnesty to those already taking them.

Ryan is a weenie to use that as an excuse not to exercise the power of Speaker of the House.
