Sikhs travel through US airports by the thousands daily, without any significant problem.
These guys were wrongly singled out by ignorant people; "ignorant" as in "lacking knowledge", and perhaps compelled by bigotry.
Most Sikh Americans are educated, entirely fluent in colloquial English, are professionals, business owners, and a surprising number of them are in law enforcement.
the Sikh religion has been around a relatively short time and as I fear that we may be heading torwards greater conflict with Islam, maybe the Sikhs should consider going to a new hat.

I dunno... sometimes the headgear makes or breaks a religion...

I guess from a religion perspective being founded in the early 1500's can be considered a "relatively short time"...
Also, wouldn't the kirpans be more of an issue than the turbans?

In the early 70s, there were Sikhs in the Air Force who were allowed to carry their kirpans as well as wear the turban and beard. I don't think that's the case now, but the turbans are still allowed, and in the Army as well.
I foresee a number of these types of establishments finding legal loopholes to change to a private club as opposed to a public space, specifically for these types of incidents in order to avoid the eventual law suits.
It is good that they were reported for suspicious activity in the parking lot. However, it seems as if they were reported because they were wearing turbans. A complete Catch 22/Good news, Bad News situation. I can only wonder how Solomon would have cut this baby in half.
El Nox
Their "suspicious activity" was putting something into the trunk of their car.
Did it look like a giant Wylie Coyote Acme bomb? Or was it a sack, a bag, a coat, or any of ten thousand other things people might stow in the trunk? Or were the fine citizens who reported the non-event too far away to see anything at all about what it might have been?
It was, apparently a "something", which gives us zero information. But I tend to think that if the object(s) had been in any way unique looking, this would have come out in the reporting.
How many people are going to report Jimmy and Joannie Whitebread for putting 'something' in the trunk of their car. In a parking lot. Before going into a spectator event.
