Because you walk and ride on public roads. And you don't pay the same taxes as someone with a car. They pay vehicle registration, which you do not.

I think the person you quoted was being facetious.

It takes a special kind of stupid to not realize we all get different benefits from our taxes. And I'm not talking about thunderkat59 or you here, you're not stupid.

I had many, many more freedoms in the Dominican Republic for 2 years as opposed to over 40 in the U.S.

Why?, less government and that's how residents want it to stay. Barring some services, they tax EVERYTHING in the U.S.

Enjoy your corrupt state,

Illinois is the largest taxpayer Ponzi scheme in the nation, as evidenced by 2 imprisoned governors and a crappy senator now occupying the WH.

So, go back to the Dominican Republic - no one is forcing you to stay in the U.S.

Can we drop this asinine argument of "If you don't like it, get out?"

That doesn't help your argument at all and only shows that you have no rebuttal and therefore resort to being asinine.

When did I say I enjoyed living in IL? lol

We're relocating to a lower tax burden state. With our needs, a relocation to Texas would save us $2,000/mo. That's not a typo. We're evaluating a few other states too.

That's the nice thing about the freedoms of this country. We can vote with our feet. None of us are "forced" to do anything here.

All this aside, any state in this nation will still provide benefits through tax dollars to people, and none of them evenly. That's not corruption, that's the reality. The alternative, a la carte taxation, is aburd and impossibly complex.

It's not asinine. I don't like IL, so I'm getting out. That's a perfectly valid scenario.

Sure, that's the same as moving to another country.

Do you know how to immigrate to another country? The amount of paperwork, money and time required? Let's look at USA, one of the easiest countries to immigrate to. It would take in excess of $50,000 and 5-10 years AND having about 1 million dollars to immigrate, not counting uprooting your entire family, ways to survive such as a business or employment in USA and learning a new language.

How many of you can actually do that? My guess is none. So yes, your answer is ASININE!

The minimum cost to immigrate is $1 million dollars?

LOL

That must have been quite a bong rip. I don't do drugs, but if I did, I'm sure I'd believe that too.
