Thank you very much for replying and updating the thread on the situation. I think I read one of your other posts where you stated that you are in Texas and near the Dallas/Fort Worth area and are getting updates from your local news channel, so if you feel like sharing updates with us in this thread, please know that it would be appreciated!
Also, the last I heard, there are negotiations going on between the police and a suspected shooter who is in some building and the suspect supposedly stated that it would be coming to an end soon and that he planned on taking out and hurting more police officers and that he had left explosives around the downtown Dallas area. Anyone got anything new on this?
Also, I'm reading threads on another site (that only temporarily hosts them) and someone posted some short video clips (that were fairly grainy and looked like news channel-obtained surveillance videos form nearby buildings) of what appeared to be someone engaging a police officer at close range and then running up to him while he was trying to shield himself behind a pillar and shooting him. There was also a picture/screenshot posted of what looked to be a dead police officer on the sidewalk by a police vehicle. Awful stuff.
You're welcome. I think someone else just posted the local link that I've been watching.
The police chief said that there is a plan to "end this" soon. Three suspects in custody and one exchanging gunfire with police. None of the suspects are being cooperative.
I don't like the Westboro Baptist Church or neo Nazi's either, but like the people who attended this rally, they all have the right to peacefully assemble and to exercise free speech.
I don't want to give these rights up.
That being said, it is very sad that these police officers were targeted by a few radical, violent people.
Of course but you missed MY point which was that this was a peaceful protest led by local pastors and rabbis and that until the shots were fired, there was NO violence going on.
It is irrelevant what this particular group of protestors were doing.
Odd you mention this, we have a lot of friends who live in Texas. We had some friends who got fed up with Dallas, and recently moved to a beach area in Florida.
I Think an area Indian Beach Melbourne, I could be wrong, but they are loving it. They make it sound so good, I want to visit.
It's an awful area full of liberals, indians (why you think it's called Indian beach?) and BLM folks. Melbourne is known as "little Africa". Please don't visit FL, you could lose your life.
