#1. This is too organized and coordinated to be a BLM group. This smells like something terroristic. Don't think they (isis) can't take any opportunity to make a scene. They're claiming bombs are planted around the city, etc.

That's kind of like saying that December 7, 1941 was a beautiful day until those darn Mitsubishis started dropping bombs in Pearl Harbor.

These murders of police occurred -- that cannot be walked back -- and at least some of the shooters are still at large. We can be certain that part of what motivated them was the rhetoric of groups like BLM, and no gaggle of pastors and rabbis can influence or civilize the thugs.

A suspicious package has been found by the bomb squad.

Personally I think at least one sniper got away.

Someone just got arrested on one of the freeways by about a gazillion cops. Two people are now in custody.

Rapidly changing news!
Thank you very much for replying and updating the thread on the situation. I think I read one of your other posts where you stated that you are in Texas and near the Dallas/Fort Worth area and are getting updates from your local news channel, so if you feel like sharing updates with us in this thread, please know that it would be appreciated!

Also, the last I heard, there are negotiations going on between the police and a suspected shooter who is in some building and the suspect supposedly stated that it would be coming to an end soon and that he planned on taking out and hurting more police officers and that he had left explosives around the downtown Dallas area. Anyone got anything new on this?

Also, I'm reading threads on another site (that only temporarily hosts them) and someone posted some short video clips (that were fairly grainy and looked like news channel-obtained surveillance videos form nearby buildings) of what appeared to be someone engaging a police officer at close range and then running up to him while he was trying to shield himself behind a pillar and shooting him. There was also a picture/screenshot posted of what looked to be a dead police officer on the sidewalk by a police vehicle. Awful stuff.

Just for the record:

Dallas is not a gun free zone, nor is Texas. Firearm ownership is common.

Multiple good guys with guns were unable to immediately stop the bad guy with a gun. In fact there was a good guy with a gun right behind the bad guy, according to video seen on CNN that was shot by someone in a nearby hotel. The good guy with a gun was a female police officer. The good guy with the gun shot the bad guy with the gun, but the bad guy with a gun was still able to shoot the good guy with the gun.

Conclusion: reasonable gun control is reasonable, and the answer is not to arm everyone, like in Somalia.

What it is a bad situation. The suspect told the police, many more police will be killed. And that the Dallas area, had bombs all over. This info could change as it has all night.

It is a bad situation, and a sad night.

They are interviewing a woman whose sister is the civilian who was shot. She said her sister had taken her four sons to the rally to experience history, and was shot by the sniper and dragged to safety by police officers. She said that her sister is in surgery now but before she was taken in, she was not worried about herself but instead was asking repeatedly how the officers were, and expressing her sorrow at the violence directed at them.

People who say "We don't know the facts yet" when cops shoot innocents, but are now leaping to blame BLM for Dallas? Check your hypocrisy.

As I called it, it took the left less than 12 hours to politicize the tragedy and start with this tripe yet again.

I'm not arguing that point. All I am saying is that this rally was organized and led by local people who wanted the rally to be a peaceful one.

The rally itself was peaceful and was ending when the shots rang out.
