Believe what you want. It's obvious you know nothing about business. You'll always blame the CEO's no matter what. But every job has a pay range that goes with it. Entry level positions are not $15/hr positions. As one learns more and increases their skill level, they move up and earn raises. That's how it works.
Right now, the minimum wage in California is $10/hr. That would be for an entry level position. That's almost $21K/yr. If your single, that isn't too bad, unless you're living beyond your means. You cannot expect an employer to pay you for the life style YOU want. It doesn't work that way.

If CEO's can be paid millions of dollars a year and the price of furniture not go up then paying employees 3 or 4$ more an hour sure in the hell won't cause it to go up. I can't people still believe that crap.
So, you don't believe a CEO should be paid what he's worth. But you believe an employee should be paid more then he's worth?
Every type of business has wage and salary scales for all job levels. They are pretty much standard in every business. Some may pay at the higher end of those scales, but they also expect more too. That's business.
If you don't like what you're getting paid, the solution is to upgrade your skill set, or find a new job. That's what all of us have done. I went from bench tech to field service tech to Sales Administration Supervisor to Applications Engineer.
They're moving to cheaper states. The workers should follow their jobs. If they sell their California homes they will find they can live much more cheaply in other states, can get homes for probably half the price and will do the happy dance when they see what their property taxes will be.
The article you posted indicated the reason was climate change and the minimum wage, still waiting for anything at all to back that up. They had over 800 workers by the way, how many were making $15per hour, 60%? Companies move because of lower taxes, incentives like tax breaks, your point about homes was irrelevant since they already had employees with homes or apartments in CA.
Someone already beat me to it but most of the workers making $15 and hour probably don't own homes unless they have a spouse, they are not moving. This doesn't sound like the company that cares in any event they gave employees that were with them for decades the minimum notice

What's your problem?
Doesn't seem like the CEO of Ashley is doing a good job. Perhaps his pay should reflect a poor job.
Of course putting "a" into "b" secure with screw...is harder for some....
