But, To cite the OP's title without attaching the actual bill in FULL is rather disingenuous!! Willing to bet embedded within "BILL" had many damaging add on's ( better known as "Kill Bill" attachments") that Booker and other Dem's denied the rest of the bill versus denying "CHEAPER MEDICATION"!!

Sorry..Just nothing link suggesting Booker and Lib's are against lowering prices of medications!! It has become far too transparent on how some love to phrase or suggest in order to demonize!!
The bill has been added to this thread along with one with how much money Booker has taken from the pharmaceutical companies.

All it did was allow people to purchase drugs from Canada.

I could be wrong, but I think it was an amendment that got shot down, not a bill. As I understand, the amendment was fairly straightforward.

Booker and the other 13 democrats who joined the GOP majority are serving their financial overlords, which is big pharma. That means being against lowering prices. The actual bill is straightforward and time and time again the bills are shot down by the puppets of big pharma in Congress.

This is from 2005, same political spin used then about how "unsafe" imports from Canada are:

CNN.com - Democrats: Lift ban on buying*medicines from Canada - Feb 26, 2005

Not exactly sure how you make that budget neutral.
I am NOT surprised the Socialist Sanders was for it.

"The Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate
may revise the allocations of a committee or committees,
aggregates, and other appropriate levels in this resolution
for one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments,
amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports
relating to lowering prescription drug prices, etc.

read it carefully.

The CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMITTEE MAY REVISE THE ALLOCATIONS OF A COMMITTEE ETC.

The way I read it, it says that the chairman can CHANGE how much money can be spent WITHOUT the rest of the committee voting for it.

No discussion, no objections, just allocate as much money as you want.

If this is the case why even have a committee?

Just let the chairman spend whatever he wants.

No wonder it was voted down.

It's about allowing people the choice of where they are going to buy their medicine, and you see this as Socialism. LOL

Christ.

Thanks for posting - glad to see how my senators voted and that I don't have to call them on this.

I already added them to my phone contacts since I've been calling so much!

As much as I don't respect Cory Booker and can spot a phony and a sell out a mile away, this guy will likely be POTUS in four years. He'll also likely be the first openly gay POTUS, unless Obama comes out. Even still, Obama was not elected as a gay POTUS. But, yeah, Booker's a manufactured puppet of the same people that pulled Obama's strings. And the Clintons, and the Bushes. His supporters will cheer and salute him while he screws them over, just like Obama did to them.
So enjoy Trump while he lasts, its back to a cardboard, manufactured, lackwitted, effete empty suit puppet of the globalist elite in four years. And if he follows Obama's lead with racial division, gays will be openly at war with heterosexuals. Should be interesting.

Canada has a process that sets the drug prices for their country. It seems to work well. Has it not occurred to our politicians to do something similar? Our best answer is to allow Americans to buy from Canada? That is not a bad solution but why can't we do our own negotiations as well?

And, what about Mexico? Why not extend this to buying product from Mexico? And for that matter, any country?

The 14 Democratic senators and the majority GOP senators are in the pocket of big pharma and do their bidding.

Trump hasnt mentioned a word about this after he talked big about big pharma ripping off the American people on his presser. Weak and phony.
