I'm actually disappointed it wasn't higher. You people disappoint me.
Identity politics are bad, mkay.

Dear lord enough with the blame already.

America is wonderful country for its freedoms. It allows people to live in the country and enjoy their life, people to live in the city and enjoy their life, or choose suburbia. Our diversity is what sets us apart from other countries.

Identity politics based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, etc. is always going to be divisive and bad for a country. National identity politics uniting all the citizens of a country is a good thing, as long as it doesn't lead to foreign wars.

Brad Pitt in a role in a movie I can't remember the name of. But I do remember he was playing a hit man.

Actually, that is not your place to decide. The greatness of America is in freedom of speech above all else--something Dems have long assaulted in the name of "fairness doctrine," or "hate speech." Lately they have just used fists and pepper spray.

By the way, emoticons generally demonstrate limited literacy and vocabularly.

It was until modern liberalism.

Nothing to do with anything said.

Actually, all Western nations are being sacrificed on the alter of diveristy.

No, not all diversity is good. People waiving Mexican flags in conjunction with signs that say "not my president" need to be sent home to their president- Enrique Pena Nieto.

Those who want Sharia law need to practice it in Saudi Arabia, or in some other non-America desert.

Those who come to this country to collect benefits and wear Fidel Castro T-shirts need to be sent back to socialist countries, where undoubtedly they will be happier.

The end result of unfettered diversity is the Middle East, or the Balkans, and no, we don't want to live there. Nor is there anything in the constitution that says that we have to import people who do not understand the freedoms they are about to receive.

Know what makes America great?
Guns
Fireworks
Trucks
Beer
Bikinis
Quads dirtbikes jetskis snowmobiles boats Harleys
Beaches
Back roads
Mountains
Race cars (be it drag racing, dirt oval, asphalt oval, auto cross, road courses whatever)
Building stuff
Bon Fires
Fishing
Hunting
Growing crops
BBQs
(All things fun and great that most libs despise for it may offend, objectify, harm the environment, or pose a risk to someones health/life for we should all live in sterile safe bubbles)

I feel bad for people stuck in cities and the city mentality... Theres a whole lot to America outside of grabbing a hot dog at 2am, overpriced night clubs, congested road ways, nowhere to park a car or pay an arm and a leg for parking. If thats your idea of living or fun. You haven't lived or had fun yet.

Get you some ear phones an mp3 player download you some jams, find a helmet buy a dirtbike. Buy a truck. Fill it with guns ammo beer fire works pallets. Mount 2 American flags in the bed. Jump a 90 foot triple, take the win in a race car spend sleepless nights building something only stopping to shower change and go to work. Get a Banshee rip through trails in a blur. Or stud the tires and rip across a frozen lake. Throw sand paddle tires and launch it in the dunes. Build a sled rip up a trail and a mountain. Swap the suspension and track and race across a frozen lake. Do donuts and burnouts with your truck on some back roads. Get a Harley. Punch it out, swap the cams ditch the silent mufflers for some pipes. Have a bon fire. Shoot some bottle rockets mortars set off a block buster some fire crackers.
Buy a snowboard rip down a mountain. Get a tow strap have your buddies tow you around an unplowed parking lot on that snowboard or even a sled.
Buy an old muscle car throw some headers to glasspacks and a big honkin cam with a 4 barrel.

Shoot a deer. Some ducks and turkey or wild hogs.
Throw a BBQ slam a beer or 2.
Thats the America I lived in. Not one sheltered from a good time...

Your idea of a great America only. There's only three things on your list that interest me at all and in one case, it would be the absence of that thing.

Why can't people find identity in themselves, their interests/hobbies, and their own values system? I learned the hard way that having group membership as your PRIMARY identity inevitably leads you to be something that you are not - namely a group member and nothing more. Sure, I self-identify as a White, straight, middle-class American, but I don't get obsessed with it. I'm me, with my own thoughts, values, and such - and that's my primary self-identity (not an an arrogant "I disdain people who don't agree with my thoughts, values, etc." sense)

The concept of a national identity, especially in a melting pot like the US, is dumb. What does a person living in rural Maine have in common with some living in downtown Los Angeles? What did they ever have in common? This is especially true now with fractured cultural output - we don't listen to the same music, watch the same TV shows or anything anymore.

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. A real American identity is be tied to the ideal of being free to choose your own identity and path in life, even if that identity seems "anti" American to somebody else.

Individualism > Collectivism

Dangerous idea around these parts my friend. I agree with you 100% though.
