In any case, I am not even sure I consider this a matter of liberal vs. conservative. Some of the most compelling arguments against puppy mills on this thread have been offered by Three Wolves in Snow, and I assure you, she is no liberal.

She is, however, a committed animal lover.

According to the OP, the bill only impacts stores. As long as there is a market for pure breds, there will be decent, reputable breeders.

I believe in my town it is illegal to sell dogs obtained from puppy mills.

Our best pets have been rescues. One was an apparent full blood Irish Wolf Hound from ASPCA kennel.
