Filipinio/Japanese lol the kid must suffer from internal conflicts. LOL kidding, I am just kidding.

well, my family fought the Japanese during ww2, and we have one interned as well. It is still pretty darn awesome that a kid with both Japanese/German blood can join the Marine Corps and became one of the best fighting force on earth. Fight for better reasons. That is pretty darn awesome.

Without modern technology, internment camp was a good option back then. Nothing to moan about really. It is what it is.

Always with the negative angle on anything American. They Japanese-Americans whined less about being interned back then than liberals who were not affected at all do today. End of the war they just went back to work and lived their lives.

Was it like something that happened before our entry into WWI?

Hey - it worked once, so we just thought we'd try it again.
Lol...yeah, I never put that correlation together before now that you mention it!

How would modern technology have changed things? No personal experience but I've always thought it questionable to basically imprison American citizens guilty of no crimes.

My friend was an interesting character, a retired naval aviator, the airplane stories alone were worth the price of admission.

Well, nobody is saying internment camp was a perfect option. I am saying I understand why it existed. Nothing more/less.

I think life is pretty good for us now. It is all that matters.

Sorry if the truth offends you but it IS the truth.

Yeah, so what if their lives had been turned completely upside down, businesses bankrupted, etc., they were after all only American citizens who'd committed no crime.

So, IF you really want to start your "negative angle on anything American" BS, go look in a mirror and see where it's coming from.

Unfortunately, you have to go for broke to prove your honor sometimes. That is what I have been taught even when I was a kid. It could've been worse. Plus, the country tried to make up for it, what else do they need? It is human nature to hate your enemies or the people who look like your enemies. It is not right, but it is human nature. Although, my relative looked nothing like an "enemy" so it is a big WTF moment for her. LOL

All you have to is look how many German Americans fought the war, they don't complain, either.

I can understand it to a point, I just missed the idea of how modern technology would have changed things.

I can't deny I tend to question many things but when you're taught in school one day that "all men are created equal" and the next day learn from history that some are 'more equal than others', I believe things should be questioned.

You cannot expect perfection in life. War is a nasty business.
