Ok, here's one.

Fort Knox has all our gold protected with armed guards.

Yet we don't have or even allow that protection around our schools, which houses something even more precious than our gold. I propose a law that requires a certain percentage of the staff of schools be carrying a firearm and be trained on its safety and use.

That does not infringe on anyone's rights except those of the school shooter's.

The fact is, my rights are not subject to your will.
Your emotions think they are.
Depends on what you think your rights are. Also the interpretation of the courts.

not bad, but add to that a decent sized security force at the school as well, perhaps former police officers, or even on duty police officers, put them in suits rather than uniforms, and let them patrol the halls of the schools. how many depends on the size of the school.

another things would be to reduce the department of education down to a minor federal department that would become a clearing house of what works and what doesnt in all areas of schooling, including security, and various education programs, and have them pass on to other school districts the results of what other schools are doing.

let the local school districts deal with the security of the schools, since they know what is happening in the schools better than the feds 2000 miles away do.

Really?

Talk about emotion-based. Where does the constitution say you have a right to an AR 15?

Whoa! 8lbs and change????? The BAR 1918A2 I'm familiar with and have fired many times, weighed just a hair under 20lbs without ammo and that model was the later one with the plastic buttstock.! They put a handle on the thing so you could carry it without becoming exhausted or leaving your shoulders seized up.

We are obviously talking about two different BARs.

Browning makes a semi-auto hunting rifle also called a BAR.

the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

note that it does limit firearms to the people, it doesnt say you can have this, but not that gun. technically many of the gun laws on the books now are unconstitutional, including the national firearms act of 1938(?) and 1968(?). even the assault weapons ban of 1993 was unconstitutional. too many judges looked the other way though, especially in the 1930s when FDR threatened to pack the scotus with 16 judges if he didnt get his way on a lot of legislation he supported.

Show me a law that does not infringe on everyones individual right, that will prevent the next mass shooting?

The Law of Self-Preservation, if a mass shooter were to show up at a location I happen to be at, I have every right to use my gun and kill him, thus preventing a mass shooting.
