Many posters are going on about personal responsibility and how student loans are a binding contract. I actually agree with that part. But some of those posters are also fierce Trump supporters. How do you reconcile the idea that students have a legal and moral obligation to repay their debts with your support of a man who routinely uses bankruptcy to avoid paying creditors?
Go start another thread about how much you hate Trump this is about student loans given away freely to any idiot. Not Trumps idea it happened way before him.

The question is relevant. If people want to make policy arguments based on principles of accountability, then they need to be consistent.

Many of the arguments is about how you pay your debts when you agree to them. Trump did not.
Lets cancel my debt so the economy gets better for me. I don't currently have debt but if this ever happens I'm off to Vegas baby cause I can be a winner if I know you're going to cancel out my losses.

well lets change the topic to Trumps debt and forget about all the college loans that are a fake paycheck for some lazy deadbeats and cheat those who really want to get an education to follow their passion I get it it's all Trumps fault in your small mind.
People take out these loans when they’re kids. Has that ever dawned on you?
This would cost about a third of the dumb wars in the Middle East that none of you complain about. And it would have a far better return on the investment....unlike bombing Afghanistan and Iraq.
are they kids??? or young adults???
kids (minors) cant enter into a contract.... young adults can
you CHOOSE to take a loan (student, home, car, small business).... YOU are obliged (obligated) to paying it back
should we just forgo all loans... yes people here you go..... free education, free housing, free food, free healthcare
you want a million education... get the free 'loan' that you don't have to pay back for daddy government
you want a million dollar house... get the free 'loan' that you don't have to pay back for daddy government
while we are at it why don't we go full blown communism... eliminate the need for money in all cases........

I didn't make the argument. It's either a legit argument or it is not. it's either wrong or it is not.
