Two things here:

-The children did not ask for their school to become a hardened sight. They asked for gun control. Save for the shooter, none of the children’s actions led to this.

-Holding gun-owners accountable for failure to secure their weapons is not victim blaming. There’s a certain responsibility that comes with having an instrument of death. One ever served in the military or on the police force what the penalty is for leaving their weapon unsecured.

No, that’s what the right wants: hardened sites, aka prison-like schools. The kids wanted gun control. I don’t know why you guys insist on lying all the time.

We already have gun control. The 20,000+ local, state, and federal gun control laws we already have do not prevent school shootings. What will help reduce such occurrences? Increased school security measures, which is exactly what Parkland did. The students don't like being treated like they did something wrong? How do they think the tens of millions of law-abiding gun owners feel when they're being called and treated like "child killers" and told they have "blood on their hands?"

If the kids can't take what they perceive to be fascist, tyrannical measures, they shouldn't be asking for fascist tyranny to be committed against others.

Cruz was a legal gun owner, who clearly secured his weapon as it was never stolen.

For those who didn't know HOW and WHY Cruz was able to pass a background check and therefore able to buy the gun in the Parkland shooting, this is what happened...

The reason Cruz was able to buy the gun he used to kill 17 in Florida is because due to an Obama/Holder-era program implemented in Broward, teen criminals were deliberately kept OUT of the justice system to preserve a clean criminal record. So, despite the fact that the police had to be called nearly 40 times to intervene in Cruz's criminal acts, Cruz had no record. It was clean. He was able to pass a background check and buy a gun.

This entire video is important to watch, but Broward officials state in their own words why teen criminals are deliberately kept OUT of the justice system and therefore able to maintain clean criminal records, beginning at 1:15...

What the students SHOULD be protesting is their own schools' 'shelter the teen criminals' policies placing them at risk.

Both Obama and Holder 'waxed poetic' on ending the "school-to-prison pipeline" as a social justice imperative, and Broward's "Promise Plan" is one of several (50+) implemented in school districts in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies throughout the country.

What's even MORE sick is that Broward officials KNEW this was a disaster waiting to happen, and did NOTHING to prevent it...

Very prescient words of warning, from 2015:
Quote:
"Maria Schneider, head of the juvenile unit in the Broward State Attorney's Office, said the program was "a work in progress."

"We've accomplished reducing the arrests. Now it's 'how do we keep that up without making the schools a more dangerous place,'" she said."
Broward sees success in new student intervention program despite rise in suspensions - Sun Sentinel

Broward officials admit that student suspensions rise and schools get more dangerous when such a program is implemented. Guess why... Teen criminals know they won't get arrested, won't go to jail, won't have a criminal record for any criminal acts anymore. All they'll get is suspended from school. BFD. What teen delinquent doesn't want to not have to go to school in the first place? Sheer stupidity! From the government and adults who are supposed to be in charge.

Only the mental midgets think that gun control would have any effect on crime! There are more knife killings than killings by so called assault weapons. Are your knives unsecured? Brain dead posts like yours are so damn old!

School just isn't important enough when you are Goin to change the World.

Good thing, because these kids are supposed to graduate next month and they have missed 6 weeks of School.
I guess they all get an automatic pass.

Clear backpacks, I.D. Tags, Security presence-- how dare they do that to these kids!

I didn't read where Cruz stole a gun. Could you point us to a source that claims that?

I don’t know why you guys insist that these kids will be safe with gun control. Use your common sense. Millions of guns will not just suddenly disappear because of new laws, which aren’t even in effect yet anyway. These kids have been pretty high profile lately, so the extra security makes sense. And if a school didn’t do everything they could to prevent this after letting in someone to murder 17 people just a few weeks ago, they would be stupid.

Truth is, this has been the case. Many adults are actually this warped. Or always have been, but it takes certain issues to bring it out. Busing crisis back in the 70s, school integration back in the 50s and 60s. Adults were going as far as to assault kids in those days.

I don't want to see gun rights diminished. I am pro-gun. I also understand that those kids don't want to be scared inside their schools. This is a messy situation, but some of the stuff we're seeing is just showing that society is as messed up as can be.

The tragedy is that the kiddos, their families & the entire Community could bring "change" - IF the started right in their own neighborhood to stop protecting the kids like Cruz AND started enforcing the LAWS that are already on the books.

Of course, then they wouldn't be CNN Rockstar Cannon Fodder to promote a Leftist Agenda against President Trump and all Republicans.
