The "Evangelical Lutheran Church" despite its name is a very mainline Protestant church and does not qualify as evangelical Christianity. I went to an evangelical Lutheran church that was LGBT-affirming for a short time back in 2010. It's nothing like the Southern Baptist or non-denomination charismatic churches that dominate conservative politics.
I know, I know. God hates f*gs. F*gs are worthy of death. No gay person can live in this country, especially in the South, without hearing that on a daily basis.
Those that choose lust before God is solely responsible for their own destiny.
Jesus warned that the days would come when Christians are hated, despised, even persecuted, due to his name...the most frightening world i can think of is one where religious denominations and the secular communities all get along great...that would mean some very serious compromise and settling was going on.
“A dog will recognize his master in whatever way he dresses. The master may dress in robes, suit and tie, or stand naked, but the dog will always recognize his master. If we cannot recognize God, our beloved master, when he comes in a different dress from another religion, then we are less than that dog.” ~Radhanath Swami
The sin of homosexuality is so damning they wear it as a badge of honor as it consumes their whole soul and it becomes their identity. It is a deviant behavior and many homosexuals groom young boys to this behavior.
Scientific proof of your assertions would be much appreciated. Please use valid, reliable, fact-based sources if you choose to answer my request.
Jesus had a plain message to sinners. Repent of your sins. Follow me to become a child of God and defeat all sin.
So what would you say to someone who heard this message but refused to follow Jesus? Someone who persisted in hateful, self-righteous judgment of those who were different from his or herself?
It doesn’t matter what job men have given to him. He is not an authority on spiritual matters.
No human on this Earth is an authority on spiritual matters. We are all just guessing and hoping. Anyone who says they know the answer is overly confident at best.
I attend Mass just about every Sunday at a church focused on social justice, so I'm not some uber conservative Catholic. Still this is just too much. The part of him saying "God created him..." is a direct contradiction to Catholic teaching that goes beyond homosexuality.
The Pope has nothing to do with God.
Humans chose the Pope.
Humans wrote the Bible too.
