I read about this. Percentage wise the average sized women is less likely to purchase the new fashions while the heavy women are more likely. I wonder how true this is. how much of a difference there is.

Seems like the fashion industry would use more average size woman so real woman can relate to what is being shown. Not promoting obesity but the waif like anorexia that has often prevailed on the runway is no standard for woman to strive for either.

The average man, age 30-39, has a 39 inch waist, an increase of several inches, over a decade or two ago.

75 % of US adults are overweight/ obese.

Or parents could sent their kids to school with healthy lunches that they've packed themselves and teach their kids about nutrition.

Funny how if no kids buy the soda, the vendors will probably remove the soda because it doesn't sell.

Yes, parenting, accountability and personal responsibility -- oh and talking with your own kids? -- are really hard. [sarcasm] Much easier to let others make decisions for you as if you're 6 months old your entire life. Which you are if you never learn decision-making skills as a child/young adult. tell your kid not to drink soda. If he doesn't listen, you as a parent have way bigger problems than excess sugar.

Just simple facts. Honestly, I would love to see more fashion shows that feature shorter women and older women, too. It's kind of hard to picture oneself in some of the styles when you only get to see them on tall, willowy 20-somethings. Let's see how they would look on people who look like us.

I do.

I did a perfunctory search and couldn't find the stats for median. Maybe you'll have better luck.

People should aspire to be thinner, and more healthy. Not accept obesity, poor eating, and exercise habits, and an UNHEALTHLY lifestyle.

People should aspire to mind their own business.
