I think equating President Trump to a terrorist organization is a bit of a stretch. My point is someone had to give in this stalemate and I am glad he finally did before Feb 1 (when a lot of federal workers are facing rent and mortgage payments). He could have stuck to his guns a lot longer and a lot more people would be hurt (and a lot worse). You don't have to give him credit for being the one to throw in the towel, but I do. It's not enough credit to give me an overall favorable view of his job as president (if I were polled, I'd be one of those disapproving of the job he's doing). But it's a step in the right direction as far a I am concerned. If he works with Congress and negotiates border security with them (as in real negotiations of give and take) that would be another favorable step in my opinion.
It's called an analogy. The point is that you shouldn't get credit for "solving" a problem that was of your own making. If someone broke into your house and stole your belongings, would you give them credit for bringing them back?
All I'm seeing is spin from both sides. What is the actual deal? If we are back to square one after 3 weeks I don't see how this makes much difference at all.
Well for my family and friends we will get our back pay.
Or maybe he actually cares about the American people. He knew he was in a no win situation and things were about to get ugly with the shutdown. At least he showed the world what a phony Pelosi is who didn't even care enough to stay in the country and try to work out a deal.
He WAS in a no win situation all right - one of his OWN CREATION!!!!!!
HE was the one who shut down the government to begin with and created all the pain.
HE did that because he's a DIMWIT.!!!!!
FINALLY after causing all that NEEDLESS pain it became obvious even to HIM that it was stupid to shut the government down so he reversed course and brought himself right back to where was to begin with.
Trumps got the left celebrating open borders. Not a good look.
Wow you're a dense one. If Mexico pays for the wall I doubt you'd get any objections. After all your God did promise they would pay. This has nothing to do with Dem's, Republicans and or Independents. It's a Trump problem. Everyone agree with border security but not in the form of a wall.
I really hope that Trump knows if he backs down on this that a lot of his base voters might have urgent business on November 3, 2020, like taking a dump or something, and not bother to vote.
Yet, Trump dug himself in and once Nancy Pelosi was sworn in as Speaker she pretty much owned him on this. There are no two ways about this. President Trump could not even get back to the 1.6 billion dollars Dems originally agreed to back in Nov.
That is getting abused politically and I don’t see how this benefits the argument of securing the border or playing to Trump’s base. The die-hard Trump supporters just watched him get owned by Pelosi in the State of the Union showdown and now this in just 24 hours.
You need to learn to recognize when people are laughing at you because right now and just like when I started this thread I was laughing at you. 3 weeks.
If he shuts it down in 3 weeks, I guess all those not getting paid can show up at Mar a Lago, eat a nice meal with their families, and accept the easy credit he was so sure they could get from the community.
