Thank God, Trump is not appeasing them.

BREAKING: Democrats immediately reject Trump's offer.
Good for the Dems. This so called "compromise" is anything but. Trump would still get his ineffective $5 billion taxpayer funded shrine and his new, second, hostage group, the Dreamers, would then be eligible for deportation as soon as he (heaven forbid) is reelected. No deal.

You have to be kidding.

Bob.
Good Lord, you are going back nearly four decades. The Republicans have been in control in Congress and the White House numerous times since then. Why haven't they worked for immigration reform in all those years if it was so important to them?

Easier to pretend this is all on the Democrats. Pathetic.

I am a bit miffed Trump offered so much today. There is no need to rush ending the shutdown. Until Wall Funding is passed, we can easily continue this way, as in the last 29 days, the vast majority of productive Americans saw no change in their lives w/o the non essential 800,000 federal employees.

Well, I guess those "non essential" Border Patrol and Coast Guard employees should just stay home then eh? How long do think they'll be willing to protect our borders WITHOUT PAY?????
What happens when the decide they've had enough and simply STAY HOME?

Isn't it funny that Trump supporters classify Border Patrol as non-essential employees in this shutdown?

I'm a bit miffed as to why the Democrats didn't take it. He did offer more than expected, so why didn't they bite. I don't think it was an unreasonable deal at all.

What did he offer that you think was reasonable?

A tiny % may, 98% will not.

They would be abandoning jobs, say bye bye pensions.

That all depends on HOW LONG the shutdown lasts. What part of "they have NO INCOME" do you not understand? Those folks have to eat, they have to pay their rent/mortgages, they have to buy gas to get to work. They can't get unemployment, they don't get strike pay, they have no income whatsoever.
What if the strike goes on another month, two months, three months?
Pension of not, they'll NEED INCOME.

Tell me again that 98% will continue working.

Ken
