This is not an April Fool's joke folks, as this story was originally reported last Monday.

It would be no surprise that as a birth photographer, you’d be used to being a part of highly emotional moments in people’s lives.

But the birth of little Uma Louise Dougherty-Eledge left one seasoned photographer an absolute mess — and the incredible images and the story behind them have since gone viral around the globe.

Pretty risky using someone that old but that's their call.

OK, I'm curious about the medical aspect of this.

Obviously she is past menopause and thus used a donated egg, and it was fertilized in vitro and then implanted in her uterus. But does a post-menopausal woman's body still "know" how to send nutrients via the umbilical cord? And is her body young enough to provide these nutrients? And wouldn't the stress of labor put a woman - which nature has decided is to old to withstand birth - at tremendous risk?

Kind of a dumb headline. Why does it matter that the son is gay? "Son and his husband" explains why the couple can't have children in a more traditional way.

She had a successful pregnancy and delivered a healthy baby. What do you think?

Yes, in this one publicized case....which proves it CAN be done. What I want to know is how much of an exception was this, and if ordinarily it would NOT work. Is it a 1 in 50 chance of success? How many times has it been tried, and failed?

(No need for the snark.)
