I think that just because something is statistically significant, that doesn't mean it's statistically relevant. I'd be interested in seeing the data from this research. Because my guess is that while there's a low low-value associated with that degree of relationship between masculine features and environmental attitudes, that relationship is also really weak.

As far as the OP, "masculinity" has always been associated with power. That people would see that chopping down a forest is more "masculine" than saving the forest is about right.
Same goes for supporting fossil fuels. I am sure if asked which is more masculine erecting oil wells or installing solar panels, the answer would be obvious.

I think one issue is a lot of men now don't have families. Their "bros" are the closest thing they have and they all hang out together trying to out-bro each other. It's worse if they were raised by a single mom with no consistent male role model. They were never taught was being a strong, decent man should be.
Use the TAPS Act to report such men to the authorities and have them jailed to prevent future environment crime.
Growing a beard and looking manly can then be used as not just probable cause, but a felony act in and of itself.
